I only just noticed that Metroline have an extra BZL decker - VMD671. Looks like it’s been in service for a few weeks now. Does this come out of those that were going to be operated by Stagecoach in Middleton ? Are there any more due ?

For those of you who thought you had seen the last of the Stagecoach Mellor Stratas, I'm afraid 44904 has been on 480s today, from 09.25 (replacing 36780).
Until 46022 is in use at Oldham, 48107 can’t transfer to Queens Road to displace the last Strata.

As I recall, Middleton gets 39 of the BZL 'deckers (86031-69). Metroline had 104 (VMD367-470), and this additional one (VMD671) makes it 105. There were 150 in total so there's six still to be allocated.

Similarly there are 20 12m BZL single-decks. Metroline have VMS361-66 and VMS663-70 (14 - although not all of the latter are in service yet), Stagecoach are supposed to be having 76101-06 for Middleton.

The 12 short BZL single-decks (66071-82 at Stagecoach) were an additional order.

I know this might be irreverent right now but is the Bee Network due any new order
Yes. In fact in today’s Combined Authority meeting while discussing bus franchising costs it was mentioned that some vehicles expected this year now won’t be delivered until the first quarter of next year. Quote below with the link to the report.

“The current forecast for 2025/26 is £51.6m, compared to a budget of £33.9m. The variance is predominantly due fleet delivery expected during 2024/25 being delivered in Q1 2025/26, the associated bus CCTV installation also being rephased into the current financial year and finalisation of land acquisition for Stockport Depot”

I'm hoping these will replace some of the more unrealible buses

13176 is now operating the 95 so hasn’t transferred.

It seems for some reason some drivers are having problems with the new Mobitech blinds being retrofitted to some of the older MMC400s at Oldham Depot, last night I caught 19:12 182 from Piccadilly-Shaw service home from work and the driver was showing "Not in Service" and having to announce the service number to any awaiting passengers, it was showing the destinations for 81 ok earlier in the day but for some reason last night after coming in off the 81 the driver was having trouble finding 182 on the blind and after a phone call to Depot he picked us up and was probably instructed to leave the destination blind as it was.

The driver said 182 wasn't in the display but I had the exact same bus home last week and pretty sure it was showing the right destination.
