I have heard the stock departs on Monday after the do.

Ohh hentis times are slightly incorrect.

For crying out loud Nathan,
I dont see EVERYTHING that goes on at Swanage, I can only post what I have in front of me or whats dropped in my inbox. You obviously know the times why dont you post them?

Again I also put the Provisional timing from OOC is 08:30 and arrival at Swanage is around 16:30. PLEASE NOTE USUAL DISCLAIMERS APPLY

Thats the times that I was sent., Note I said Provosional as well!!

SO from my point of view if it says provisional it means these could change.... at the time of writing they were correct... at the time of posting the info in this thread from my point of view the were correctthat the info I was sent thats the info I posted. If your going to say the times are incorrect then please furnish us all with the correct times and stop with this Arrogant i know more than you attitude.

Another problem with 56's on preserved lines is that they're air brake only - whilst most of the stock on those lines is vacuum only. They're not exactly cheap to run either, so they're hardly an ideal loco for a preserved line.

As for the new attraction at Swanage: it's blue, it's named, and it's an EMU...

Indeed.
I think the plan was to have the 56,something and the 20 in a group of 3. The 20 was going to act as a translator vechile for the 56. Well thats what i heard.

From some bits thats just dropped in my inbox a few days ago:-

Visiting locos for the beer festival weekend so far confirmed as D1015 (Western Champion ), 73 136 and 73 208. 56 098 is now highly unlikely to make it due to a blown turbo. If they can get a spare and fit it in time, then it will join the cavalcade.

Current plan still requires the final arrival to the Swanage Railway of the signed Network Rail connection agreement, but all the signs are that this is indeed in or very nearly in, the post!

Provisional pathing has the diesels leaving Old Oak Common on May 10 around 08:00. They then come to Branksome, reverse into Bmth depot and pick up Gordon Pettit The gala then goes on down at the Swanage Railway through Fri-Sun and the whole lot leave the branch around 09:30 on Monday 14th - firstly for Branksome then back to OOC.

Hope this helps

Unfortunately with the 50 thats appearing on Saturday afternoon at Poole the engineering works on Saturday night / Sunday morning (7 engineers trains in total on both weekends) as well as Thursdays Western ED and Gordon drive by as well as a trip to Eastleigh on Friday then I will be a tad busy to go to the beer gala.Oh and the aftermarth of everything coming back on Monday.

Still if I can get some decent shots then I will be a happy chap.

Cheers
