You were refering to another additional locomotive for the Beer Fest, I was refering to another locomotive as the 56s replacement...

56s are poor in preservation. There far too powerful, they get up to 25mph faster than most other preserved Diesels. It's boring.

Like at the Nene valley, at one point they used double headed grids on load 4! I'd imagine it would've taken just 20 seconds to accellerate upto line speed...

I disagree. More noise than most type 4/5 power (40/42/52 excluded) at low speed on account of the turbo. And as they are currently relatively rare thats better than the 100th preserved duff working of the year.... Personally had a superb thrash out of 057 at Nene Valley myself.

Seeing as type 2s have been squeezed out on many preserved lines, the overpowered logic doesn't work, as bigger engines appear to be preferred by the operating powers.

Each to their own - but i'll be turning up for a 56 rather than a 47 or 50 every time!

There is something else in the works other than the 37 I was told this morning. cant say as its not been 100% on the dotted T's and crossed i's!!

I have been given the preliminary times as well for the western and 73 but have been told not to release as yet (sorry) Bit of a pain in the arse as I am starting shift work from 30th April at our new warehouse, so that screws everything up.

Also one to Note The Line is closed between Wareham & Poole on Sunday so Buses to Wareham. Also note the weekend of 26 - 26 the Line between Wareham and Poole is closed all weekend including Holiday Monday!!

Might have ( cause it has) something todo with the Raildrop at Wareham area Thursday night Friday Morning!!! (GBRF doing the honours!!)
