Armadale was scheduled to reopen in 2010, but this was delayed by a few months. Haggerston did actually reopen in 2010, also with AC electrification which was not previously used.

London Blackfriars is another of the capital’s 3rd rail stations which has 2 bay platforms and 2 through roads.

Shrewsbury is another station with its platforms built partly above a major river.

Arwel Hughes composed "Tydi a Roddaist" in twenty minutes during a wait between train connections at Shrewsbury in 1938. A plaque to mark this was unveiled on Platform Three in 2004. Another station credited with being the location where a song was written is Widnes, where Paul Simon began to write "Homeward Bound" on a scrap of paper. also whilst waiting for a train. It, too, has a plaque commemorating this claim to fame on the Liverpool bound platform.

(It's understood that there are several other claims to the latter achievement, but I'm using Widnes as it seem to be the most verifiable station)
