Which B10's? How come we are loosing them? They been moved on or scrapped?

20451/452, it was mentioned a few pages ago that ME was to lose 2 B10Ms from the PVR.

That R reg Volvo is in disgraceful condition for its age along the roof corners.

its Kirkbys, I spied it on the 435 the other day with a KLCH driver at the wheel - Im guessing its a rented one.

21003 on the 3 this afternoon, with 20452 on the X1.

I suppose its not suprising Morecambe is losing its two oldest (but better) B10Ms....

Must be they give there last three to stagecoach when the council contracts where up on the 81a/81b. Any idea which two they are keeping quiet, but i have a feeling it`s a choice between 20451/452(reserve)/790(oddball).

10179 is Carlisle's, just been put back onto reserve on the last transfer period.
makes sense really. Carlisle driver gets 554 to Keswick, then 555 to Lancaster Bus Station to collect it.
wonder if that means that it'll be out on Seatoller half hourlies! gets a bit annoying on a really hot day when a closed top bus has to run it when the other time slot is open top!

More likey they would do what we did a few years ago when we moved stock between Carlisle/Workington and Morecambe and ferry the driver in a van/car saving a lot of time, otherwise a move using service buses would take all day instead of a few hours :D

Stock moves were always a fun job to be given, a nice trip up the motorway esepcially on a nice day :)

when the Routemasters left Lillyhall not too long ago, 1 driver drove one to Carlisle, got the 300 back, drove the next, 300 back, then drove the next, and got 300 back. as far as i know, when something goes to Carlisle for repaint, either someone from Lillyhall will drive the bus out and travel back, or someone from Carlisle will travel to Lillyhall and drive the bus back.

I think that depends on the destination and wether another driver is spare along with a bus to follow you. I used to catch the train when I went to collect/return RML2451 between Morecambe & Carlisle but if Lilyhall was the destination then another driver or inspector would follow in the either the pickup or Infobus - I recall a trip with 4 B10M buses (K7xx series) when we were followed by the Infobus and it struggled to keep up! I took 14235 to Carlisle for repaint into swoops livery and was followed by an inspector in an Expressliner coach!

In Carlisle and spotted the back end of Enviro 300 PX59AZC, 14203 has moved outside and has NO roof damage at all, has now been stripped of all downstairs windows and seats. Must have had a major unit failure to be scrapped with no damage!!!

Now ... where to start.. this may get confusing so bear with me..

Well, with the schools off, the summer reduction in the PVR gives engineers a chance to take some Tridents on long-term VOR. 18153 being one to mention as its having some serious repannelling done (had some pics somewhere to put on fotopic, but i dont think they came up to good) i dont know if any others have been flung around the depots for work/repaints/whatever

The Volvo's 16634/6/7/8/9/40/50/69/70 Are usually available to cover so its not really a problem.. as seen by the fact 16634/6/7/40 were all on 125/6 today, I'm wondering though if they have taken off the right Tridents, or is there a really big amount of work that needs doing, as a couple of them still out in service didn't sound to well at all...

Why might they still be out? Maybe its due to a lack of Volvo's, as i have seen 16639/50 and 69 all in service at Preston.. 69 being of note as that (along with sister 70) never had its 'Route 68' branding removed, so was obviously being used on the 68's

also at Preston, it seems the 222xx series MAN's have been brought over to be exclusively used on the 16 service, as that is all i seem to see on them, with the exception of seeing one of them on an 8..

14195 was out on the 40, and 47494 was seen with a new PNE all over vinyl, another for the fotopic when i get round to blue-toothing it off the phone, the bus that had it before still seems to be running around with it on..

Back to Chorley and one of the two Darts (34679) is also VOR at the moment and that has led to B10's guest starring on the 109's, 20899 yesterday and 20794 (argh!) today

20899 and a Trident were also seen covering minibus turns on various journeys during the day too, due to minibuses being VOR.. All in all very busy at Chorley engineering, which may answer my early question about sick tridents still being used :P

Think thats about it, if anyone makes sense of this post can they explain it to me please

the roof damaged note has now been removed from the list. its gearbox was removed and put into 10179, which was fully auto to start with. all useful parts are being removed, then the body is off for scrap.

14203 has really had a bad time since it was brought into service. At lancaster when it crashed into torrisholme road bridge got sent to carlisle and crashed into a bridge there and now going for scrap. Things really do come in threes.:o

It was there so I could have a play with it :)
dumped on me at 1210 and was told Carlisle were sending someone down on th etrain to pick it up, after shunting it around several times, purely for logistical reasons, DE rang at 1600 so say Carlisle were now not coming to pick it up and get it shuttled back to depot.
After a couple of times around the block I really would not fancy much further with it, gearbox is terrible

Apparently CE's new E300's are to have high backed seats and tachos form country routes.

79 (which they're supposed to be mostly used on) is a long distance Carlisle - Annan. it runs alongside 179 which will still be B10M operated (or 52408 if its available). both of these routes have saw Citi branded Darts operate them.
the 104 is Carlisle - Penrith - Center Parcs.
i've heard a rumour that some of the Citi branded Darts are to have branding removed so that they can be used out of Penrith Outstation without looking odd (they sometimes get used on the 108 Penrith - Patterdale.

47023 and 47024 on Moorclose Circulars.
3167, 33168 and 47617 on Harrington & Seaton. 47617 was on the 46A which is usually the bus that operates the town evening services.
20764 is on 31.
40028 went out towards Maryport with "Workington 48" on display.
20768 operated the 1315 Northside 46.
20737, 42565, and 42566 were on annexe. 42566 having came off Maryport Town Services for lunch break and driver change.

the current bus station arrangements are proving to have downsides. full size single deck buses are leaving stands E and F of which are minibus stands. its proving difficult to fit them in.
on the annexe stands, if a bus is at stand 1 and stand 3, then its impossible for a bus to get into stand 2. also, if a bus is at stand 1 (moorclose circulars leave that stand and have a 5 min layover time), then if some stuff is parked up on the annexe as it usually is, then buses from stands 2 and 3 can't get out, causing delays. there is also a few traffic issues arrising. buses sometimes can't get onto the annexe due to the traffic at the lights at the Oxford Street and Vulcans Lane box junction, so anything that has followed a bus around the corner will be blocking off the pedestrian crossing, as will the back of the bus.
--- old post above --- --- new post below ---
16447, 16652, 16734 and 20761 on 300.
20753 replaced 47024 on Moorclose 50.
47059 on 1.
33169 on 30A.
34616 on 31.
20768 was sitting at stand D in bus station, so under the new arrangements, i'm guessing that its either going on the evening 301's, or is on SL Ltd Contract.
42562 on Maryport Town Services.

10179 has apparently arrived back at CE. havnt saw it myself (apart from on a picture), but a few people have spotted it. it still has Kendal's stuff stored on the Bright Tech from when they had it on loan while 17014 was still under conversion.

47061 is in Lillyhall's dead lanes, with the "steering wheel cover of death" on the dashboard, and a plank of wood in front of the front wheels! some rear panelling has been removed, as well as the front panel.
seems to be most of the ex Preston stuff at Lillyhall that ends up requiring the most attention! well, them and the Jonckheere coaches and the Volvo Olympians!

Oh brill more solos sounds great! Will they be hired or bought? They should revamp their company brand to make it look smarter but that of course costs money!

Our Preston solos seem to be doing alright cainebj lol

42566 on 58 with a now working front flip dot display. side and rear still don't work.
CE have allocated 52408 to the 600, which is a pretty odd allocation! its usually B10M / Citi Dart!
