SHOCK NEWS! Volvo Olympian 16358 is getting scrapped! Aparently the chassis is shot!

WHEYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i hate that thing hahahaha.

i had 22609 going to town in my free lesson, and 22597 going back to sixth form. 22609 door squeeks a bit now! and the defence screen over ticket machine is a little bent lol.

33168 on Moorclose Circular 51, with 47023 on 50.
usuals on everything else i think (unfortunately includes 40001 on 46!)

Well just a few new things today.

Was on the 555 to Milnthorpe this morning heading up from Haws hill in Carnforth. We stopped at the traffic lights just before re joining the A6. So I'm looking forward and suddenly an open top Trident in green livery flies past along the A6 heading for Kendal. What the hell was it doing there? Has it been at Lancaster? Or was it on some kind of test run? Anyway was annoyed we diden't get through the lights earlier so i could have seen the number.

Also 20452 has its old screen back not an LED. It looks like its been touched up but the left side is still a bit funny. Should have done the job properly and put an LED in.

Not much else going on but that Trident was the highlight lol.

Oh also the ex X2 Olys from Preston have arrived at Morecambe before going on to Barrow. The new deckers that have been stored at Morecambe left at the same time. Follow the link for snaps (not my pics)

Yeah, Preston brought up 4 deckers and left with 4 new ones I believe.

I wouldn't bank on 16358 being scrapped, as we all well know, 30342 had extensive chassis welding under SC to cure rotting. Unless of course 16358s chassis is bent, in which case there is no hope.

EDIT: Just read in an email regarding the East Midlands changes, I quote

Trident will probably have been on test to Morecambe, just to give it a run so it's not stood doing nothing. Either that or it was being given an extended test on the way back from LL. Not the best weather to have an OT out in today!

Taken in Deepdale Road yesterday - looking a bit weathered. Apparently it is being used on schools and, instead of keeping it local, it is going on longer runs and breaking down at the furthest point from the depot such as Chorley & Garstang

20131 seen on the 2A this afternoon, it seems to have its LED screen replaced with a Bright-Tech one!!
14208 running around on the 55A heading for Lancaster.

However, I know 15466-74 are all operating at Preston because I saw them all yesterday on the X2 and rode on four of them

something i forgot to mention earlier! either drivers are being lazy again, or displays have stopped working lol. i seen 22609 heading to Maryport with "Frizington 31" on front display and "31 Frizington" on side display! i wonder how much confusion it caused at Lakes College!!!

Bizarre, I didnt get a good luck but the number plate looked like P131.... I was too busy driving my car round the corner at Sainsburys

Yes, I believe they do. I've certainly seen one on an X35 covering for a Loyne.

Yes but there are only 3, and the PVR ISTR is 4. That's without failures etc.
