suppose that could work, but the solo's look good on moorclose haha. the darts could possibly work on 1, but saying that i havnt been across the full route. i think the darts are similar length to the vario's which have worked the 1 service a few times, but i suppose the darts are wider.
it would be nice if lillyhall could get hold of 2 longer darts (38 seat or something) to run moorclose circular. back when 47617 was off the road being repaired from accident damaged, i seen one of the 56reg darts on Moorclose 50 (not sure how it ended up on there! but it did!).
its about time the 58 had a decent bus! but dart would be a little big. i've driven along most of the route in a car and found it a little uncomfortable. however saying that, J B Pickthall get a coach down some of that route every school day!
whatever happens, it will be a challenge lol.
might be worth it if they split the route up though. have a Kells 1, and Lowca 1A. when john hoban had his contract at St Benedicts last year, he used his 33 seaters a few times (Plaxton Cheetah and Esker Radia), which pretty much covered the whitehaven - lowca side (he'd take it through h'crest onto loop road, through parton and then upto lowca). i can't see stagecoach doing that though. it would be like telling them to separate harrington and seaton, which i really can't see them doing! pretty sure harrington and seaton used to be separate though. i remember the Bristols being on 46 BRIERYDALE a few times, and the old G reg 709d's on 47 SEATON.

Preston Bus Optare Solo No.72 has Stagecoach fleetnames on the front but still has Preston names and livery on the sides
unfortunately Preston get priority over "available" low floor buses
whether long term or short term so theres nothing to stop stagecoach NW saying that T607JBA can go to Preston on long term loan, and the B6 Preston took out of reserve could go into service at lillyhall, which isnt much better than the 709d's really.today i seen:

just used the B6 as an example of what could happen with preston getting priority.
if T607 is staying at Preston, and T602 isnt coming to Lillyhall, then Lillyhall should get the ALX200 Preston have in reserve (S479BWC, 34079). Lillyhall's needs are greater than Prestons
but if T602 is coming to Lillyhall instead, it will leave Kendal a bus down.
T607JBA being in Preston could be short term though, maybe as a cover vehicle for any PB vehicles coming off service for any work. i suppose theres only management that will know exactly what is happening.

its a shame VRR is leaving service i really liked that coach! everything on it was good, apart from its bright tech with the stupid autocheck routine!
it wouldnt suprise me if they painted it into Stagecoach Training livery, and replaced one of the paramounts at Morecambe or Carlisle.

its a shame that lillyhall will get ALX400 / E400 if anything fine for X5, but not really for anything else. something a little bigger would have been nicer for 300, but oh well. just have to hope that there isnt a sudden surge in people wanting to use the bus to Carlisle!

there isnt really anything bigger than E400's in UK at the minute E500's woud have been nice if they were around!

chances are they'll be 2nd hand from manchester. manchester supposed to be getting a whole load of E400's this year some point, so some of their older ALX400's could get transferred here, or maybe even their lolynes which are so much nicer!

This years Morecambe open day also marks 90yrs since Ribble Motor Services began operations. RVPT intend to have a stand there, and a number of former Ribble buses are hoped to be in attendance.
