From 17th October till 28th October kids can travel for just £1 on Transpennine Express trains on the following routes (and from/to any station along the way):

Leeds to Hull, Leeds to Scarborough, Leeds to Middlesbrough, Leeds to Newcastle.

I would assume it's only for advance bookings but there is no mention of this on the TPExpress website

https://www.tpexpress.co.uk/special-offers/kids-for-a-quid/
There's some temporary TPE only fares such as Newcastle and Northallerton to York which coincide with this offer.

£25 Off Peak Return to York, not bad vs the £37.70 any permitted.

A bit annoyed that I missed the latest Virgin Red 40% off EC fares as I was on holiday and I'm finding the AP tickets are now more expensive when I buy them than they have ever been in 4 years of Friday commuting on the Executive.

This has been on the app for a few weeks. There doesn't seen to be a limit to the number of wifi codes you can get. I've used three so far, and have enough left for the trips I've got planned, and a few spares. They expire at the end of the year.

Groupon are offering a slightly unusual deal on National Express. As I understand it you pay £2 for a code which then gets you 40% off the fare. Airport routes excluded but otherwise valid Nov 2016 - March 2017 inclusive

Only really worth doing for £10 + fares and at first I thought it meant you could buy a ticket for £2 so may mislead others.

I think "promotion" might be leading us astray...

ITV News said:
Virgin Trains has launched a "never-ending ticket" which will allow the ticket holder to make a return journey in first class for free.

The company will randomly select one passenger each day who can use the ticket to go anywhere on its west coast route, and the operator said it would continue the promotion as long as it is kept alive on social media.

For the chance to win, passengers must tweet Virgin Trains with the hashtag #NeverEndingTicket stating where they want to go and why.

The promotion will end if the ticket is uncollected or not used for three 24 hour periods.

How nice of ITV to offer some free advertising for Virgin.

Unlike, say, Virgin, at least a not insubstantial segment of the TOC's customers can make use of its fare promotions. Credit given where credit due, even though I still have a low opinion of Arriva.

Will it be a 50% off one like the last one - that's the best one VTEC have had during their stewardship.

Standard £5, £10, £15. 1st class £20, £25, £30

Not as good as the last one then - that was 50% off across the board resulting in lot's of one way fares in the low teens (1st Class) from Scotland to English Northern Cities.

For me (if I can get anything) it'll be a lot better than the current £51 first release tickets available for me.

Early access to sale via Virgin Red app.
As far as I could see absolutely no peak time tickets - previous sales have had a few for me.
