Indifferent. He just commented on how nice it was to travel on a loco hauled train.
There is an interesting article in the Latest Railways Illustrated about 67s and their passenger work. He also comments on the '67 roadshow' and this new age of haulage bashing.
Degenerate ones, I salute you!
Paignton ran today. Not sure why all the hype but the last day changed from the 1st to the 15th weeks ago!!

Some of the staff operating it might have liked to have known that for sure - most of them were under the impression Friday was to be the last day. Anyway, it was a good excuse for me to rejoin the roadshow for a day![]()
Ooops. I was going by what FGW Train Planning were saying.
Assume a good day was had by all though?
Top man! I'll buy you a drink when you're old enough

Does the demise of skips on the Paigntons mean that the 17:00 Cardiff > Taunton is now a 150? Isn't that going to get rather overcrowded?
Not happy to see that 67016 and 67017 are back on the Tauntons.
For the last two months there has been four winners, I'm going over tomorrow and hey presto my two highest mileage machines are put back on!
Still, better than a 150 though...
67003 from the up bay sidings to the neck at wrexham all of 300 yards, and I cabbed it![]()

Boo, trust 2 winners to be on it when I cant make it down for them, could have had a set n all12-20

Surely all skips are pretty much the same. They're all ETH-fitted etc and no freight sub-class. How is it that some of them are 'winners'?
Not all skips can work with a DVT on their own
It's not a spectacularly big difference though is it? I would guess all the WSMR ones can, so does this mean that the non-WSMR are more prized than the others? It's hardly the level of excitement that was caused by getting a 37/0 instead of a 37/4, or even a 47/3 instead of a 47/4.
I think its the fact that some members of the class are certainly easier than others to have, and people will always be interested if something different from the norm appears. Oddly, my last 3 skips were ones which regularly work passenger trains - 007, 014 and 030. Finally got the last of these on a Sleeper move earlier this month!
I had 7 on the sleeper on 28th September. I even had a crafty flail under the cover of pitch darkness leaving Pitlochry.
<hangs head in shame>
You dirty, degenerate person.....![]()
