Today I've mainly been on the New Guildford lines, and the Mole Valley line towards Horsham, after taking 20 minutes to get from Brookwood to Woking!

Oxshott
Effingham Junction
Horsley
Ashtead
Boxhill & Westhumble
Warnham
Holmwood
Ockley
Dorking
Epsom
Leatherhead
Bookham
Clandon
London Road (Guildford)

There's two with two:

Hall i' Th' Wood
Besses-o'-th'-Barn

The latter also racks up three hyphens as well!

Christ's Hospital is another single apostrophe station.

I wish I could say more about Epsom other than it has a nice subway between the two island platforms.

21/8

Preston Park
Pevensey bay
Doleham (and what a lovely station it is)
Ham Street
Cooksbridge

Would have gotten Rye & Appledore to complete the East coastway, but alas cancellations were a plenty

I remember a couple of years ago one morning, pulling up there and opening the gate, then walking down a long, uneven path which turned 90 degrees at the end onto a scaffolded walkway with steps going up and down. I presumed the work was to make it wheelchair friendly.

It's still the same, long uneven path from the road before a sharp turn before many steps down a scaffolded walkway.

And how did you find the lovely Hawarden Bridge, Fishquinn?

It was nice enough for a couple of minutes before I decided to leave! I had a lot of time at Shotton so I just walked for 5 mins to shack scratch (and see if I could see the loco in Dee Marsh).

Why do I keep reading this as "SHARK" attacks? <( <D

This is also what attracted my attention and made me visit this thread.

I was not aware that global warming had brought sharks into the areas named in the postings on this thread recently.

The only sharks that frequent the inland areas where I live are Sale Sharks, once from Sale, then from Stockport and now found ground-sharing with Salford Red Devils RLFC on the new ground near Barton Airport.

You're not alone..
I read it as that too

Erm...so did I. :oops::lol:

Finally updated my spreadsheets.

Current totals:
NR - 582
Underground/Metro/Tram - 201.

Some trip planning required.

***

Looking at a London A-Z - St John's to Elverson Road looks a shortish walk. Anyone done it?

Its probably further than it looks as there's only 1 way out of the station, but it's easily do-able - allow around 12-15 mins
