Ilkley and Sheffield were both main settlements of the Celtic Iron-Age tribe called the Brigantes.

London and Manchester both have orbital motoways (M25 and M60 respectively) that were never intended as they were designed (M25 is a mixture of two ringways due to cut-backs and the M60 was a mass renumbering of motorways M62,M63,M66 etc).

Bootle is near to where many passenger ferries depart from, as is Harwich.
