Clapham (Beds) is also oft confused with a bigger place of the same name.

There is also another Clapham in North Yorkshire, not far from Settle.

Castell-Nedd is another fairly large town that is in close proximity to a city. (Deliberately chosen for the Welsh aspect! )

I had a good link for Droitwich there, but now i've been gazumped. Still, this is an interesting fact, so i'll still share it.
The natural Droitwich brine contains 2½ lbs. of salt per gallon - ten times stronger than sea water and only rivalled by the Dead Sea.

As another interesting fact, Castell Nedd (:roll was the birthplace of the renowned actor Richard Burton (1925-1984), born Richard Walter Jenkins, who took his stage name from the famous brewing town of Burton on Trent.

From Worcester to Birmingham for two reasons, firstly Birmingham is at the other end of the Birmingham and Worcester Canal, and secundly they both have main stations ending in "Hill"
