At Bourton-on-the-Water is the Dragonfly Maze: designed by Kit Williams, best-known as the author / creator of the book / large-scale conundrum Masquerade, involving a golden statuette of a hare -- to the location of which, correct interpretation of the text would lead the reader. Williams's hiding-place -- by burial -- of said statuette, was in Ampthill Park, at Ampthill (Bedfordshire). (A number of other creations by Williams involve this kind of thing -- negotiating the Dragonfly Maze includes collecting clues, for eventual reward, as one navigates the labyrinth.)
