Megabus still only does reference numbers, doesn't it? With a ticket only being for a specific time this works quite well, you can present it in any format, even write on the back of your hand in biro.

Yeah, megabus also use reference numbers. Just show it to the driver and he marks it off on his loading sheet.

Sadly yes - and even if you thought to use the hilighted alpha code to give to the driver, they ignore it and ask for your unhilighted booking number! the total opposite to ember……
Yes, same with Megabus tickets.

They're to replace Astromegas which they're having difficulty getting parts for (not for the M96...)

54271/72 appear to be for Cumbernauld while 59223/26 are for Perth.
Thus far 54271 has been noted on the M9 with 59226 noted on the M8 and M90.

Yet National Express have proper PDF downloads to be printed or shown on your phone. Is this because they are probably bigger than Citylink and Megabus put together ?

Company size/popularity is no excuse as Ember manage to issue QR code tickets like National Express. There's no reason why Citylink and Megabus couldn't do the same.
Don't see any problem with ticket formats. The amount of times as a driver I have had people come to me and say my phone has died is shocking. If its written down or in qr code it's fine. We may want to move with the times there are other users whom looking for a ticket is a problem.
I recall National Express, you had to print the E ticket out. Thankfully they accept tickets on the phone now.
Do Citylink still issue paper tickets or is it a printout in A4 if bought at the Bus Station.

Quite a mixed fleet noted on the M10 and M9 routes today.
I had a Megabus branded Interdeck (63 plate) on the M9 this morning. On the M10 I had a Stagecoach branded Vanhool, ex Oxford Tube. Seems be an influx of Megabus Interdecks to these routes.

Citylink cover all Scottish Work for megabus; however if you look at the address of megabus it is Scottish Citylink in Scotland, Campbeltown.
All the Citylink coaches are very very standard and run down old tri-axles. Somewhere I've been working has just bought a few, 60k a coach so not cheap for what it is.

Scottish Citylink is headquartered at Buchan Bus Station in Glasgow, not Campbeltown. You appear to confusing this with West Coast Motors, whose HQ is in Campbeltown.

Actually no the coach we've got was registered in Campbeltown. Still has the Scottish citylink livery plastered on it.

That’s because it’s a West Coast Motors coach as West Coast Motors are contracted to run some services under contract to Scottish citylink.

There is ONE coach legally owned by Scottish city link to keep the Traffic commissioner happy, I'm sure its based with West coast motors ?

Scottish City link has 6 ops discs of their own. The official operating centre is Stagecoach Cumbernauld so buses on the Citylink licence must be based at Cumbernauld.
A bus/coach can have any livery on it, that isn't important. What matters is the name and number on the operators disc and the very specific legal letting which must match the licence number and details that is on the operators disc.

The legal lettering on the side of the coach was a company in Campbeltown, however can't remember the full name.

You were already told, it is an ex West Coast Motors coach, it is in their hybrid livery as well.

It would have been Craig of Campbeltown Ltd on the legals. That's the company name, but they use other trading names such as West Coast Motors, etc. Looking up their licence on gov.uk will show all this.

SPT Zonecard. Allows unlimited travel on certain transport operators throughout zones of the user's choosing for a set period of time. They basically act as multi-operator season tickets.
Unfortunately Citylink (or Parks etc) aren't listed among the participating operators so I would therefore presume that they aren't valid.
I would point your question at Citylink as I know they used to accept them for local journeys like Cumbernauld to Glasgow or Baillieston to Glasgow but may have changed as they are not listed on spt website. Or they have never accepted them and us drivers never cared
