Scotrail Trainee Drivers (Ongoing)

Hi all, I've got my DMI coming up. I've read through the forum and am going to research Scotrail and about the area I'm being interviewed for. Does anyone have advice on anything else I should be prepping for? I.e. do they ask 'tell me about a time you've...' type questions?

Stage 2 is the 3 computer tests & MMI.

But you need to pass the computer tests to be able to sit the MMI mate.

No I’ve only sat the 1st assessments. The depot I’ve been assigned is gourock. Don’t know if it depends on what depot you have been assigned to ‍♂️

My email just said stage 2. Nothing specific about MMI. Although that’s not to say it’s not going to creep up at the same time. What location are you being considered for if you don’t mind?

So i got an email yesterday to pick a date to go into do stage 2.

The email doesnt mention anything about MMI so i think that will be later as well.

Uniform Query!

Just received my uniform request form. Can any males who have had theirs confirm the sizing of the stuff ordered/received? Is it fairly true to their sizing etc (don't want to embarrass myself and be unable to button my trousers or end up with a jacket that's two sizes too big!!).

Also, is there any scope for swapping sizes on collecting the stuff from your depot or are you stuck with what you've ordered?

Any help would be appreciated.

I suggest going for chinos, they are standard Marks & Spencer (they have an M&S label!) and fit much better than the shiny suit trousers. I found the polo shirts were true to size but had to go up a size on the softshell jacket because they fit very snug. I managed to get mine swapped at Atrium Court. You can speak to the uniform lady and she'll let you try stuff on if you're concerned.

Good evening all, does anyone know when the recruitment will open again. I bodged my DMI and wasn’t successful moving forward. I thought I had prepared, went did a depot visit talked to a few drivers asked questions. In the interview I was thrown off. I was told that I in my email informing me of my failure that they would be happy to receive my application again.

I finally got word back from my DMI which I attended in January! It took six months to be told I was unsuccessful but I am welcome to reapply as the six month time bar has passed!
I found the first set of tests quite easy and got to 42 out of 43 in the gauges test but the interview felt doomed from the beginning!

I know the topic of shift pattern has briefly been discussed as in the d as us you work. But does anyone know how or where best to have a look at an example shift pattern and start times?

Currently just waiting on my medical but curious about what’s ahead. Tried sending an email, but not had a response yet probably too busy with recruitment.

Its all pretty spot on.

I think they have a few suppliers for stuff, some get M&S trousers, mine are Next! All decent stuff and sizings are good.

If you do need to swap stuff George and Joanne who do the uniforms are located withing the training academy anyway, and are always really helpful.

I just got an email mate, an email to say passed and then another email a while later advising of the next date for the next stage.

Through out my full process i've never received any phone calls - im just waiting on a medical now

Hi this is really good! Although there’s a couple that have got traffic lights in them but the answers say there isn’t, same with 1 with 2 with traffic signs but not correct answer. Absolutely not being negative honest! Just pointing it out as some people might panic with it
