SERVICE DELIVERY MANAGER – MANCHESTER (THE ROC)
We love the North. It's a vibrant, thriving place where there's more happening than ever before. To connect communities, people and cities, we will transform the TransPennine Express franchise. It will offer faster, easier journeys and a step change in rail services: an InterCity of the North, if you will. With over £500m of investment to deliver (including 44 new intercity trains), we're all set to take the North further, expanding links and the economy. There's just one thing missing – you.
We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Service Delivery Manager to work within the Route Operations Centre based in Manchester.
Ideally you will have strong Operational Experience, you will oversee the safe delivery of services to the customer on a daily basis and to manage and develop our Control team for the real time safe delivery of the train plan. As a leader of this business you will engage and inspire our people, be accountable for your actions and business performance and challenge yourself as an individual to be even better. As a leader you will continually develop and role model leadership skills and company values
Other duties will include but are not limited to:
- To record and review levels of performance of Controllers (through Control log output as an example) and agree Personal Development Plans for individuals;
- Accountability for all people management, welfare, support and development activities within the Control Team.
- To be accountable for ensuring all Controllers are assessed to agreed standards to ensure competence is achieved and maintained, liaising with Operations Standards in terms of verification, and maintaining that standard;
- To undertake joint reviews of incidents (including the contingency/service recovery plans) that breach agreed performance criteria through liaison with appropriate functions and companies (e.g. Network Rail) to conclude, identify, recommend and track improvement actions;
- To act as the custodian of a suite of Control procedures within the Safety Management System along with TPE's contingency plans both operational and customer orientated;
- To act as the contact for the management of projects which impact on the Control and then as the conduit for the delivery of these;
- To represent TPE at industry forums;
- An on-call commitment.
To say thank you for all your hard work, we offer competitive salaries and some great rewards. There's a final salary pension scheme, discretionary bonus scheme and big savings on rail travel: free TransPennine Express journeys for you and free leisure journeys for your family. You and your family can also get discounts with other train operating companies. Your job comes with plenty of holiday as well as all kinds of benefits: childcare vouchers, discounts and even a Cycle to Work scheme.
