Excellent and cold trip home from uni tonight (last night seeing as it's 1am :P)
I could have taken the 1S51 direct back to Darlington but chose instead to leap at York for the following Grand Central service which I could take to Eaglescliffe for a unit home. It was in vague hope that one of my last three (I'll come back to this dubious figure

) power cars would turn out!
43304+43301 turned out to pile on some miles with that particular pair before changing at York. Unfortunately the 1N94 went from 5L to 12L on arrival in York, turning my connection at Eaglescliffe from a healthy +7 to +2 and finally a -5... Some red pen action should hopefully make up for that then. I didn't have my books to hand so I duly leapt aboard 43468/43423 for the stop start run through to Eaglescliffe.
I'd missed the connection by a mile so a chilly and foggy half hour fester ensued when, and probably the first and only time, I was pleased to see 142066 trundle into view which duly got me on my way home.
All well and good and I was eager to check my books for the power cars as I was sure that 423 was one of the missing. Sure enough, 423
AND 468 needed the red pen treatment
Now, going back to that dubious figure of three... At this point I had a gap next to 484 for red pen treatment which was slightly irritating and obviously meant I'd have to traipse out again at some point to scratch it in. However, whilst doing my mileages for individual locos/units, I came across an entry for 43484 from last summer, hmm....
Quick check of the handwritten notes and the year mileage books corroborated this and so it seemed did the phone gallery! Turns out I'd forgotten to mark up 484 in the bible and then taken it as fact. Result: GC HST's and thus all HSTs from 43206 onwards (i.e. the renumbered ones!) cleared
So, winners for this evening:
20/11/2014:
43423 43468 and erm... 43484 :P
Sorry for the mini-report!
