A very successful day indeed! Congratulations on clearing the 185s, I still need 11 of them. Might have to do some MAN-MIA leaps again next time I venture north  Jealous you got 156420, one of my last AN 156s.

Does your Northern count include the 319s coming up, or the EMUs on the Yorkshire side? Doing very well either way!

Was stuck on 3 for absolutely ages <( Chanced across 129 when on a family trip to York. 142 appeared about a month ago when doing SHF-MHS insect leaps. 130 was by far the luckiest though! I knew I was missing it as I had other plans and it was far away up the west coast. The signalling commotion resulted in a diagram change and then I managed a -11 onto it thanks to the unit waiting at Man OR for bloody ages for 185113 to attach!

All my AN 156s were required until Saturday and made good inroads there :)

I'd forgotten about the 319s! How many are Northern getting so I can add then to the list. Never had a 319 so most definitely required

Thanks

Can't recall how many 319s are coming north, and you've been missing out with 319s!

I usually ignore EMU's, can't stand the things so that's probably why. Nothing to like in them at all. Same with electrics for me as well unfortunately although it's nice to see 87s etc where they belong on WCML on occasion!

11/11/2014:
144004 144014
150275
158795
170304
222003 222101

Went out for a quick out and back to Chesterfield to see if anything needing the red pen treatment was about. Managed 222003 straight away but a bit of a wait brought 222101 out. Timing was perfect on arrival in Sheff and I was tempted in to buying a MHS return as 150275 was sat waiting. Continued riding my luck and managed 7 consecutive winners!

Northern Fleet down to 131 plus 14x 319s due by mid 2015 so lets call it:
NT - 131 (145) ;)

Was planning an ELR bash on 37418 but 31466 deputising (yawnn....... :-x) so another (cheaper) day bashing in Manchester by the looks of it

Thanks

Looks like a 315/317 bashing day will soon be on the cards for me. Sadly I bashed the track before I started taking numbers down so I have 1x315 recorded and 3x 317s (Greater Anglia). To Liverpool Street!

Well hot of the press having just returned from two stonking days in the Cardiff area. Although the travel there and back wasn't that good as my records show I have done two return trips over the years to South Wales and three of those journeys have been on 175108 :(

Anyhow my trip included 34 new cops for haulage and all by one were Arriva trains Wales :)

Along with loads of new stations visited, on thatnote does anyone know whether there is a thread somewhere that records stations visited or do we just jot them down on here.

Here is the list

Thursday 13th November

Mixed bag of a day for me on a Lincoln day-ranger (not the best rover if you want to bash units owing to the slightly limited services):

Southern:
377131/377150 (first 377/1s with High-den seating) Clapham to Victoria

EMT:
222002 (first 7-car 222) St Pancras to Nottingham
156408 Lincoln to Doncaster (4 dud units)

Northern:
150144 Lincoln to Saxilby (could have had 142028 on the way back if I decided to push my luck with a 3 minute connection at Lincoln for the Doncaster train)
142057 Bentley to Adwick
321902 Doncaster to Bentley
322482 Adwick to Doncaster (first 322, just need that Chiltern 121 to complete the set :))

Grand Central:
180107 Doncaster to Kings Cross

FGW:
165103 Paddington to Slough
165104/165114 Slough to Reading.

3 more Turbos ticked off :)

ELR 31466 Avoidance Move / GM Day Ranger:

15/11/2014:

323224 323230
350407 350409
390128

Cracking day with plenty cleared including the Chat Moss line with the 350s. Making serious inroads into the NT 150 fleet and I managed to get 4/6 required TP units inc. clearing the 170/3s. Only 350402/403 to go! Plenty of little bits and bobs there and a nice surprise in 158774 dropping to take my EMT 158 req. tally to 2.

Instead of a YTD tally I thought, after a pretty productive week, I'd put my WTD tally!

08-15 Nov 2014: 54!

TPE stands on 2
NTR stands on 115 (129)

Just awaiting the flight back from Geneva, 14 SBB 460 and 4 11xxx locos harvested today. Had a 450 as well on the s-bahn but think that's being struck off as not being a loco despite being in the correct numbering scheme...

Good day for me with some electrostars & other winning units on a little day trip to the seaside at Ramsgate.

Southern:
171725, 377404, 3777127, 377425, 377106, 377405

SWT:
444025

Thameslink:
319440 & 319454

Southeastern:
375812; 375708; 395008; 375823; 375615; 375915 & 375815

----

With regards to a Thameslink unit bash, which 2 stations would be better in terms of frequency & platform cross-over time (on a sunday)?

Well that would discount 2/3 of my Swiss scores for this year then! (It hasn't got passenger accomodation in the loco bit so it is a loco IMO :) )

Very pleased with the weeks efforts! 95 new trains but that's the last multi day trip of the year. I was gutted however when I saw 378257 at Stratford as I was leaving it! It's my last one and it was gone upon my return and I didn't have time to chase it as I needed to get to Paddington for train home. Hoping to get a couple of day trips to London before Christmas providing work doesn't change my days off.

Genuinely pleased to say that I scored my last FGW HST today - 43088 - and my last 180 - 180103 - thanks to the help from 43094.

It did not go smoothly though and at one point it looked as if it was going to be one or the other for me yet again, but it turned out alright at the end, albeit with a few tight connections along the way.

So my sole remaining HST still in passenger service is 43468. I am not in a hurry to get it though as it is at least relatively easy for me to get compared to the FGW ones.

Gangwayed to the stock, no proper couplings and single ended....definitely dubious!

Monday 17/11/14:

S7: 21439/40

377 701
377 707
377 708

That clears the 377s for me for haulage - just in time for the 387s to come on stream!

It was rather a good literal "dropping on" clearance as well; I'd just gained the S7 from Edgware Road to Paddington ( Bishop's Road ), headed back and made my way via Earl's Court to West Brompton and 377 702 turned up on the 14.47 to Shepherd's Bush; 377 701 produced on the 15.22 return to Imperial Wharf, 377 707 on the 15.44 back to the Bush, used the ( known dud ) 8 car diagram at 16.22 back to Olympia then change for the 16.35 "short run" that starts there - which turned out to be 377 708.

So I got all three in number order in just over an hour! :D

( For good measure I'd cleared the DLR photographically earlier in the day by finally nailing 133 for photo, again without much effort. ):D:D

Well, at least we can all have our own rules about bashing; as my old man was fond of saying "it's a good job that we're not all the same" :p

Anyway, I only need about 20 of them now and unless I can catch up with RhB 703, MOB 6005 or a couple of MGB locos I won't be scoring much on my next trip to Switzerland other than a couple of kettles.

I'm hoping to try and score some of my required FGW 180s (102, 103, 106 & 108) on a Thames branch ticket on the 22nd December. Probably going back and forward between Reading & Slough. I hope FGW don't change around with the diagrams (using the diagrams in use currently).

I'm assuming with the Thames Rover you can't use it for intercity services between 4pm & 7pm but it is allowed on the Turbos between Pad & Reading?

Quite a good day with a couple splits to & from the forum meal:

Thameslink:
319010; 319373; 319449; 319457; 377506; 377508

SWT:
444044; 450013; 450033; 450125; 455701; 455707

SE:
465906; 466041

2 electric duds though, so not quite 100% winner day [excluding the 159s off course]

I'm attempting a 5-way spilt tomorrow on a little journey from Romsey to Winchester (although coming back I think it might be 6 trains), so hopefully I can get a couple new units ticked off in my little book

Excellent and cold trip home from uni tonight (last night seeing as it's 1am :P)

I could have taken the 1S51 direct back to Darlington but chose instead to leap at York for the following Grand Central service which I could take to Eaglescliffe for a unit home. It was in vague hope that one of my last three (I'll come back to this dubious figure ;) ) power cars would turn out!

43304+43301 turned out to pile on some miles with that particular pair before changing at York. Unfortunately the 1N94 went from 5L to 12L on arrival in York, turning my connection at Eaglescliffe from a healthy +7 to +2 and finally a -5... Some red pen action should hopefully make up for that then. I didn't have my books to hand so I duly leapt aboard 43468/43423 for the stop start run through to Eaglescliffe.

I'd missed the connection by a mile so a chilly and foggy half hour fester ensued when, and probably the first and only time, I was pleased to see 142066 trundle into view which duly got me on my way home.

All well and good and I was eager to check my books for the power cars as I was sure that 423 was one of the missing. Sure enough, 423 AND 468 needed the red pen treatment :D

Now, going back to that dubious figure of three... At this point I had a gap next to 484 for red pen treatment which was slightly irritating and obviously meant I'd have to traipse out again at some point to scratch it in. However, whilst doing my mileages for individual locos/units, I came across an entry for 43484 from last summer, hmm....

Quick check of the handwritten notes and the year mileage books corroborated this and so it seemed did the phone gallery! Turns out I'd forgotten to mark up 484 in the bible and then taken it as fact. Result: GC HST's and thus all HSTs from 43206 onwards (i.e. the renumbered ones!) cleared :)

So, winners for this evening:

20/11/2014:
43423 43468 and erm... 43484 :P

Sorry for the mini-report!

That's all the ScotRail 170s for me, after all four remaining ones scored yesterday and today: 170417 on a Queen Street - Waverley shuttle and 170477 on a Haymarket - Edinburgh Park leap yesterday, and 170451 on the 1341 Queen Street - Aberdeen to Stirling and finally 170433 on the 1944 Waverley - Inverness for a stop hop to Haymarket today.
