Go on. We'll all back you up to be reinstated.
Many years a go whilst studying in Manchester I lived in a student house with three other males.
One evening we return home from lectures to see that GM police have called round to give advice on a certain matter and have left a calling card complete with phone number etc
I ring them (being the responsible one) and they arrange to come round in an hour or two.
Roughly an hour later two coppers turn up, a male officer in his late 40s and a young female police officer.
The older officer asks who sleeps in the right hand room, looking at the house from the street.
Our housemate, called Nick raises his hand. The two officers ask if they can have a word in the hallway. Three pairs of ears are now by the door leading from the front room to the hallway.
The sound proofing is awful. As it goes Nick has been 'knocking one out' in full view of the neighbours! Oh the shame!
The door is then opened (almost knocking my teeth out) and the two officers wish us a good night. The older officer gives us a wink, the younger one a smile.
A few weeks later, on a night out I bump into the younger female officer and I ask her for her phone number (I was 21 and she just 18). We go out on a date. We've been very happily married for 25 years.
Memories!
