Go on. We'll all back you up to be reinstated.

Many years a go whilst studying in Manchester I lived in a student house with three other males.

One evening we return home from lectures to see that GM police have called round to give advice on a certain matter and have left a calling card complete with phone number etc

I ring them (being the responsible one) and they arrange to come round in an hour or two.

Roughly an hour later two coppers turn up, a male officer in his late 40s and a young female police officer.

The older officer asks who sleeps in the right hand room, looking at the house from the street.

Our housemate, called Nick raises his hand. The two officers ask if they can have a word in the hallway. Three pairs of ears are now by the door leading from the front room to the hallway.

The sound proofing is awful. As it goes Nick has been 'knocking one out' in full view of the neighbours! Oh the shame!

The door is then opened (almost knocking my teeth out) and the two officers wish us a good night. The older officer gives us a wink, the younger one a smile.

A few weeks later, on a night out I bump into the younger female officer and I ask her for her phone number (I was 21 and she just 18). We go out on a date. We've been very happily married for 25 years.

Memories!

That's the best thing I've heard all day. It's the kind of story you hear on the radio and go aw, that's really nice. (I don't mean the unsavoury bit) :D
I'm wondering though what nickname ended up being given to your mate after the incident?
In fact does he still have to face your wife in social situations? I imagine a certain look directed at him might cause him to go a bit quiet if he was ever being a bit irritating?

My wife still refers to Nick as "Tugger"! He was my best man and he absolutely caned me, the BBC Top Of The Pops Music for my top ten etc. In other words the absolute works.

The silly sod asked me to be his best man in return and of course that fateful night got a mention! That is the only time I have ever seen a bride spit her drink out during a speech (me having forgot to mention it prior to the wedding :D).

Just brilliant. :D

I've got one too which is similar, but not quite as pleasant :).
A very good friend of mine (we'll call her Tracey) had been told by a couple of people that her boyfriend was slightly odd and on one occasion she'd been told this by one of her best friends.
She really didn't want to believe what she'd been told that he'd actually done in front of her friend and they ended up almost falling out over it. I'll leave others to fill the gaps in here, but similar to Richmondcommu's story, with Tracey in the room but looking the other way at the time.
A few weeks later her neighbour came round and said "where's your Norman?" (not his real name).
"He's in the bath".
"No he isn't!" And she led Tracey outside to look up at her bedroom window revealing Norman standing on full display wearing all the lingerie he'd bought her for her birthday a few weeks before and showing himself off to the passing traffic. :o
The relationship sort of fizzled out in the next thirty seconds with the aid of her sons cricket bat.

I'm laughing out loud and so is my wife! In fact its a full on guffaw!

Do you know what happened to Norman?

That is the funniest thing I've heard in some time.

I would love to have seen his face when Tracey entered the room!

Do you know it's funny but we never saw any part of Norman again.

Tonight my internet connection is slower than a snail surfing a wave of treacle on a cold wet bank holiday Monday in Budleigh Salterton.

That don't look so slow, certainly not as slow as Budleigh Salterton's most famous tortoise Slow Giles, friend of Giles Wemmbley-Hogg.

Excellent. A customer told me about Giles Wemmbley Hogg recently and it's rather good isn't it? I liked the episode when he went to Glastonbury, I could relate to some of it.

Right now there's eight people all trying to use the wifi. I've come up to the loft as it's the nearest place to the router so it'll get to me quicker than anyone else.
Is that how it works?

You should have about 10 nanoseconds advantage, use it wisely.

That's when you change the wifi password or, better yet, turn off wifi
