St Helens Central was St Helens Shaw Street

Correct. The Newcastle-Washington service, which left the Sunderland line at Pelaw Junction and also served Usworth, closed on 9 September 1963. There were no objections to the proposal, which was unusual, if not unique, for a proposal involving the closure of passenger stations, rather than merely odd curves. To you to propose the next.
