Yes, 47 046 first became 47 601 ( testing the class 56 engine ) then 47 901 ( testing the class 58 engine ).

Coast Starlight is definitely West Coast because I investigated for a potential trip. Almost certainly starts in Seattle and I think Los Angeles is the end point but it could go all the way to San Diego - but I will go with just LA. The other two would be pure guesses

You are correct with Coast Starlight Seattle to Los Angeles - Sunset Limited does end in LA but doesn't start in Washington DC

So at a guess since you already had two terminating west coast and one starting south and one starting west coast you will have gone for something else. I doubt Chicago as I know the named trains from there so I am going to suggest East Coast?

No sorry. 2 of the letters correct one wrong and the HQ is wrong. Northern is correct as is Society.

Is the correct answer - Swinton Manchester to be precise. Main pick up for tours was always Manchester Victoria. The tours coordinator was John Wade who now runs Heritage Shunters Trust at Rowley. I was the Sales officer at one time.
