Coast Starlight is definitely West Coast because I investigated for a potential trip. Almost certainly starts in Seattle and I think Los Angeles is the end point but it could go all the way to San Diego - but I will go with just LA. The other two would be pure guesses

Sunset Limited must end on the West Coast too. Probably Los Angeles again but the starting point eludes me. I will go with Washington DC

You are correct with Coast Starlight Seattle to Los Angeles - Sunset Limited does end in LA but doesn't start in Washington DC

So at a guess since you already had two terminating west coast and one starting south and one starting west coast you will have gone for something else. I doubt Chicago as I know the named trains from there so I am going to suggest East Coast?

You are on the right lines (no pun intended)

Would that be Northern Correspondance and Travel society and the HQ in Yorkshire?

No sorry. 2 of the letters correct one wrong and the HQ is wrong. Northern is correct as is Society.

Northern Counties Transport Society?? Not sure about HQ but I am going to guess somewhere in Manchester.
Is the correct answer - Swinton Manchester to be precise. Main pick up for tours was always Manchester Victoria. The tours coordinator was John Wade who now runs Heritage Shunters Trust at Rowley. I was the Sales officer at one time.

The first female signaller appointment by a British railway was made in 1890. Which railway company appointed her (perhaps not too hard) and which box did she serve at?
