I think 03091 was the first shunter withdrawn with a TOPS number. By "mainline", however, I meant something capable of over 30mph - not a gronk!

I thought it was 31150, but on checking this wasn't withdrawn until 10/75 (although its crash may have been earlier). As 24061 was 08/75, your answer is better than mine!

The 31 accident was 11th July 1975. The 24 was withdrawn on 1st August. Open floor for now.

37425 is correct, but 37180 had the same plate (Sir Dyfed County of Dyfed) both sides.

Apologies, I missed 428, it did briefly carry Loch Long on the second side after carrying Loch Awe on one side only.

Another easy one then; what odd 'feature' (think numbers) is shared by Bristol Temple Meads, Bristol Parkway and Cardiff Central?

Do they have 'missing' platforms? There is a long removed closed bay at Cardiff Central, no platform 14 at Bristol TM and there is only one of the two new platforms I believe at Parkway, so maybe they have done something strange there.

Very quick, well done Yep, missing platforms would be the answer there. The missing bay at Cardiff would have been platform 5, there is no longer a platform 1 at Parkway, and as you say Temple Meads lacks a platform 14. Platform 2 is also a moot point, as it's no longer used for passenger services and is just a stabling point these days.
