I have been on the R&ER several times and was sure there were platforms sited both sides of the train.
I must admit I have not been to the Kirklees Light Railway.

There are platforms on both sides but doors on only one. The platforms are laid out as a through platform and an 'island' so that you always get out on the south side. It's a bit like some of the stations on the Glasgow Underground.

Can I guess at class 01 nos 01001 and 01002 or old numbers D2954 and
D2955 which worked on the isolated Holyhead Dock Railway.
To feature ...I do not know.!

That depends on a) were those Ruston diesel shunters in departmental stock loco only braked and b) are they included in the question as the 01's were in capital stock.

The 01s couldn't supply continuous brakes, of that I'm certain. Still, it wasn't the answer and the correct answer was just as interesting.

You're right that they couldn't, but I couldn't find conclusive evidence that they were the last BR locos so (un-)equipped. Although they probably were...
