I think it's time to knock this one on the head!

The answer I was wanting was the Speed Signalling experiment which the L.M.S. undertook in the Mirfield area from the 1930s-1960s - a complicated system which even allowed for four seperate lights to be lit vertically on the one post - understandably it was scrapped when other modern signalling systems were introduced in the 60s and 70s.

Ralphchadkirk came closest with his suggestion of the L.M.S. signalling on the Euston New Lines - again of an experimental nature and at about the same time, so I'm going to declare him the winner, and if he doesn't want it, it's an open floor.

Well we're talking neutral sections. I think this may turn into a team effort, this isn't my area of speciality, but the most obvious is a section of non-conducting wire in between the two sections.

I suppose we could also have something along the lines of a circuit breaker, if needs be I'll attempt to put my thoughts into words at some stage tomorrow, I'm too tired for physics right now.

Insulators keep each separate track apart but they still share the same electrical section, think more along the lines of sub sections
