Another rare ticket from my collection....

The question is what was this ticket issued for..?

The information I am going to give you is that it was issued on 2nd June 1967 through a NCR21 ticket machine from a station on the former BR (Southern Region). The station name has no relevance to the answer.

Was it something to do with the Regulation Tickets certain busy stations used to issue [such as Blackpool and other sea-side resorts, to ensure popular trains were not crowded?

IIRC, they did not allocate a specific seat reservation, but simply a place on the train. They were applied-for in advance, and given up on going through the barrier prior to boarding.

It is not a commemorative ticket of any description.
My records show that NCR21 machines were introduced in 1965 and were withdrawn in the 1980s with the introduction of APTIS tickets.

It is not a souvenir ticket...... similar to my reply at 0943 today.

This seems unlikely for 1967 and for the type of ticket, but would it be for operation of some sort of automated platform access or lift, (getting a bit desperate now)
