Just to follow up. DAS is indeed the proposed work around for MU speed operations. Work now needs to be done to get this implementation agreed and actually get the DAS working.
Looks to have been cancelled today because of the signalling problems at Warrington.Move today cancelled. Still planned tomorrow as a 10 car.
The 5Z55 is cancelled and replaced with 1Z55 which has just departed Stafford 0915.Looks to have been cancelled today because of the signalling problems at Warrington.
PS - No, still going at Penkridge...
The TMS is on all the time in some sort of way. Since DAS isnt an available function at this moment no one knows. Perhaps a comparison can be asked of GWR Hitachi drivers & how they use, or not, DAS?You have to drive with the TMS on at night then ?
DAS isn't currently used by GWR drivers. I tend to agree that having the TMS screen illuminated at night is going to be a complete non starter, presumably there is a plan somewhere! The TMS is on all the time in some sort of way. It would appear not.DAS isn't currently used by GWR drivers. I tend to agree that having the TMS screen illuminated at night is going to be a complete non starter, presumably there is a plan somewhere!
Very surprised that would be passed off by ASLEF!It would appear not.
Presumably today's move was cancelled. Is the one run yesterday sufficient for the testing or do they need to run southbound over the Settle and Carlisle?Move today cancelled. Still planned tomorrow as a 10 car.
You can set the TMS screen to night mode whereby it blanks out and only illuminates for station alerts or if a fault appears but whether this works for DAS nobody knows yet.DAS isn't currently used by GWR drivers. I can't help but feel this would become terribly distracting if it keeps illuminating for DAS purposes, however we don't use DAS on GWR and I don't know much about it / how often it would light up etc etc.You can set the TMS screen to night mode whereby it blanks out and only illuminates for station alerts or if a fault appears but whether this works for DAS nobody knows yet.
The concept will be passed off..... but if it is deemed unsafe, distracting, not fit for purpose....etc... It wont get used. One thing at a time though. It needs to be agreed in principle first then made functional.Very surprised that would be passed off by ASLEF!
Since it has only been active on a couple of tests, I'm not sure anyone knows at this time but I'm sure the union & ORR will have something to say if it isn't fit for purpose & doesn't negate the improvement order placed on the TOC. Time will tell.I can't help but feel this would become terribly distracting if it keeps illuminating for DAS purposes, however we don't use DAS on GWR and I don't know much about it / how often it would light up etc etc.
I'm going to assume it worked this807010 is now on Edge Hill Carriage Sidings, presumably ready to go back into service.
I'm going to assume it worked this

So what will happen to North Wales to London services if they start using the 805's regularly during the period of the diversions?805007 to work 5Z55 up to Carlisle via Settle and Blackburn. Guessing it’s in preparation for future diversions along the line.
I presume short formed 10 / Chester services running Euston to Crewe with electric traction? So what will happen to North Wales to London services if they start using the 805's regularly during the period of the diversions?
Very optimistic! I don’t think Avanti have ever bothered running Euston Crewe shuttles to connect to truncated Chesters. I think it’s always just been “shove em onto a Liverpool/Manchester”I presume short formed 10 / Chester services running Euston to Crewe with electric traction?
I'm assuming this was meant to be in reply to post #4,315?Saw it this morning at Liverpool Lime Street
It's isn't actually. It seemed to worked another service back to Liverpool later in the day.I'm assuming this was meant to be in reply to post #4,315?
