I travelled on 807007 on Saturday and noticed the shop was closed although fully stocked and both the doors at that end had "Our of use" stickers on them. No announcements about lack of shop were made. Thought it strange at the time.
This post mentions the problems affecting the everos

Post #4252 mentions the issues as well

I think Avanti's choice of seating makes a big difference! The reclined back and tilted seat base makes all the difference, IMO, to the almost right-angle ones LNER and GWR use!
I found the seats a lot more comfortable than GWR’s and the whole interior design just seems better.

Better than cancelling it isn't it?
Why do you hope to gain out of saying this, out of interest?
Do you not think customers paying Avanti’s sky high have the right to speak negatively about a five carriage train operating in place of a much longer (possibly eleven carriage) one? I wouldn’t wish to be crammed in like sardines for two hours, and you saying this really does suggest that people should stop whining and be grateful that a train came at all. And I think passengers deserve better than that.

And no, it’s not always better than cancelling it. If my train is cancelled I have the choice to take the next one, which may well be longer, and then get my expensive ticket refunded from delay repay. What they should do is run the train but give customers this option instead. This was the case on LNER just after the pandemic, when 5 cars came instead of 9.

Could’ve been a 10 car set.
Can anyone confirm the Actual location of 807010. Some reports suggest it is back at Wembley possibly for the wheel lathe. Movements and other reports suggest it is still at oxley and not left there. I am in London on the 22nd August and hope to get it. Can anyone please confirm by eyeballs the exact location. Many thanks in advance

Of course it is better than cancelling it. Better to run a 5 car than a 9 or 11 if there was no other unit available .

Better to give customers a choice to travel on a short formed 5 car service or travel on service either side

Your reply really is rather OTT. I can imagine if Avanti cancelled and didn't offer any choice you would complain, yet when they offer a 5 car to run to avoid a cancellation you have a go at me for saying better than cancelling.

As in many things Avanti are damned if they do. Damned if they don't.
It's irrelevant whether people pay sky high prices . Your reply indicates you would rather cancel a train and to hell with anyone who needs to get where they want to be on time.

So you want the train cancelled so you can claim delay repay? So it's all about you yes?

Some people still want to get to where they are going on time regardless of tattoos short form.
Just because you don't agree with that. Doesn't make my comment irrelevant or wrong.

Many people have said and confirmed it's at Wembley.

You’re welcome to assume that.

Did you not read where I said it would be better if customers were offered the choice of boarding the short train or catching the next and claiming?

That’s what I suggested!

And yet again, an 805 works the EUS>LIV run with 805003 doing the honours!
It looked rather jammed with passengers when I saw it at Crewe on its return to London; passengers on the platform were being advised to catch the following train (a Manchester - London Pendolino about 10 minutes later. )

On 1A14 06:48 Holyhead to Euston, 805004. No reservations working 'as usual', quoting the TM. Is there any sign of a permanent fix?

Although it might be considered academic because the reservations never work, there is an inconsistency about the first class car on 805s, at least at Rugby.
Catching the Holyhead train there, the platform screen (orange letters) said 'First class - coach E', This confused at least one passenger who had a first class reservation which showed it as being in coach J and, understandably, he engaged in a conversation with the platform staff. The train did indeed show 'J' on the first class car.
It seems to be another example of lack of interest in 'details' - similarly showing arrival times on the internal screens that are merely booked, rather than taking into account late running.

The cynical observer might say that putting out a short train is not for customer service but to avoid the 'trains cancelled' penalties...

Just seen this service at Nuneaton and the indicators on the side of the coaches are not working either.

In answer to my question I can see 807010 is on 5z87 from oxley to Wembley today. That means that it was at oxley not Wembley just as I suspected

class 805/807 (& non tilt class 390s) cannot run to any MU speed profiles at this moment.

Introduction of the Driver Advisory System is a key element of current productivity talks, but the MU speed operations are not. It looks like the operators aim is to use the DAS to enable MU speed running. (Presumably with the blessing of the DfT / ORR) However, the two subjects are not mutual in productivity discussions. There is also the the fact that the DAS needs to be made fully functional & drivers need to be trained in some form on its operation as it was not part of the initial traction training. There seems little point in road learning the MU speed profiles whilst the system of working is yet to be established. Taking all this into consideration I predict the MU speed boards will be a bit dirty by the time the Evero fleet can run to them.

Did they specify a year though?
Just to follow up. DAS is indeed the proposed work around for MU speed operations. Work now needs to be done to get this implementation agreed and actually get the DAS working.

Indeed - it was due to run last week and didn’t.
Requires attention to the wheels.

All the signs are ready now waiting for it…

805007 to work 5Z55 up to Carlisle via Settle and Blackburn. Guessing it’s in preparation for future diversions along the line.
