Sounds very interesting. Which car make + model was on the details you'd checked?
It didn't give a model when I checked the DVLA site, but it did say it was a Daimler... Very nice black finish with silver trim on the wheel arches too. I only had time to note the reg and not get a picture

OK Did it look like one of these attached cars? Daimler E20, Daimler Fifteen, Daimler Light Straight-Eight? All from 1936.

A two-tone grey early-style (pre-1959) Austin Cambridge: from a quick glimpse it looked in good condition. There is also a bus-running weekend, so a fair few buses on show: Southern Vectis having been a railway bus company there are plenty of Bristols to see. (“No, madam, a 1950s red and white painted Devon General single-decker is not going to take you shopping in Newport.”)

Yesterday on the M62 westbound near Chain Bar interchange (M606) saw a mint condition Vauxhall Combi (Corsa-based van with raised roof in the cargo area) on a 51 plate. Flew past me at about 80mph!

Plenty of interesting vehicles today on the way back from Snowdonia to Worcestershire.

  • A rather nice-looking old flatbed van. No idea what, but looked maybe like it was from the 1950s or so. There was some sort of large engine being carried as a load
  • A vehicle which I'm not entirely sure how to describe - maybe an old-fashioned tow truck but without the towing kit? A short van-like thing but not a proper van body on the back (but not a flatbed either...). Almost certainly a decade or two newer than the previous van
  • Several near-identical classic cars of some kind, that were obviously part of an organised event (not least because they all had "event name" plates/banners on them. Again, I couldn't say what they were
  • A steam traction engine on a low loader lorry

A couple of Americans in the Leek area today: an early-to-mid 70s Corvette Sting Ray, and a Plymouth Road Runner - possibly a 1969 model.

There is a garage on the Macclesfield Road above Rudyard Lake where you'll nearly always see a classic or two.

Peugeot pizza purveyor!
(1978 Peugeot J7 van, in super condition, used as a mobile wood-fired pizza establishment)

The Peugeot J7 (1965 to 1980) was the "daddy" of the J9 variant shown on post 640.

This NSU Prinz today in Sainsbury's Ely, Note the Bond 3 wheeler next to it. In my rush to get a photo of the NSU I missed the Bond and several others plus a couple of Messerschmitt bubble cars! Must have been an organised meet.

Edited for typos.

Not sure what it is, but I saw this in Bradford the other day - an Irish plated vehicle from 1982, with the now very rare black-on-red plates!

I’m not sure either. Is it a Datsun Sunny maybe?

Possibly a Honda Accord? The light clusters look a little wide for a Datsun/Nissan Sunny.
Whatever it is, it has been first registered elsewhere and then imported into Ireland after 1987; it has a 1982 registration but in post-87 Irish format.
Very interesting and a really good spot!

Google's AI says

"This is a vintage 1982 Datsun Sunny (B310 series) sedan in red"

I looked for that description and there are some similar looking hits

A British Racing Green open Jaguar XK, probably a 120, that looked very smart. I also got a glimpse of what was, I think, an MG Midget TF in white.

Have just seen an immaculate white left hand drive Triumph Herald convertible driving through Stia, Tuscany. Unfortunately I was unable to get my phone ready in time to take a photo, as I was sitting at an outside restaurant table at the time, using it to scan the Forums! ;)

I can't compete with the Tuscan splendour that @D6130 sees today; but this wonderful AC Cobra greeted my wife and I as we visited Ashling Park Estate vineyard, West Sussex.
It's only a short drive from home, yet it's taken us until now to pop in!

Prior to visiting Ashling, we drove along Bosham's foreshore (only possible at low tide!), where this 1959 Land Rover 88 complemented the harbourside.
