Well, the new 'n' colours maybe an improvement, and they match the 195s under construction, but why can't we have both? The 'n' lends itself to different colours, and I was hoping to see some variation. And why can't they make up their mind on the brand?

Well, the truth is the original livery was designed without consulting the colour pallet in the brand guidelines. It took a while before anyone noticed the colours chosen for the roundels weren't in the pallet, by which time the newly-liveried trains had started entering traffic. Officially we've had off-brand trains travelling around the network for months

Does that mean they're worth more, like duff coinage/notes? ;)

319370 is now fully decked out in the new livery, and is on its way back to Allerton as I type.

Why the limited colour pallet?

Is 155346 out today? Wouldn't mind seeing first hand what 16 months of work have achieved!

If that was the booked 156 diagram today that unit should currently be on an Ellesmere Port to Warrington Bank Quay service and should be on the 17:23 Victoria to Blackpool service in a bit.

The broken door gives the impression it's a polished turd!

I may have missed this elsewhere but are Northern planning on replacing all the light clusters so that head and tail lights are the LED type?

The upgrade of the external lights is a decision and cost to the ROSCO rather than Northern its self. Northern will pay to repair what ever is fitted though as part of the lease.

Rode the "new and improved" 155 earlier on- just a short hop from Batley to Morley but I had a try of both table and airline seats and stuck my head in the loo... well, the loo cubicle!

Based on that brief test, it seems that they've essentially returned it to "as new" condition but with PRM-compliant additions and up-to-date seating. The disappointment is that whoever specified the refurbishment didn't choose to sacrifice 4 seats per car (one airline row on each side) in order to give the other rows an extra inch or two of knee-room.

The toilet looked fine though I didn't actually test it. The new seats are firm but very comfortable.

I was on 150220 today and found the interior disappointingly scruffy and dirty. The door on the locker than holds the wheelchair ramp is bare unfinished wood that clashes with the rest of the decor. It is already scuffed with shoe marks.

The PIS display was scrolling "Manchester Vic". Pending an update to add the ability to display intermediate stops, surely it would not be too hard either to stop the scrolling or to spell out "Manchester Victoria" in full?

I've only just seen 155346 at Leeds today on the LDS - MCV service.
Yeah I caught it at Leeds on Wednesday. Looked ok, but nothing wonderful.

Moreover I had 150137 last night, which has frankly horrendous bright yellow handrails. No idea why as yellow isn't part of the new logo, and doesn't compliment the remainder of the refurb.

Yellow is the new turquoise. Allegedly, Northern are responding to feedback about visibility of the handrails, and so all future units will have yellow handrails.

Maybe they should make all the passengers wear hi-viz so we don't bump in to each other.

I have to say, this is something that irritates me on the 319s. The train to "Manchester Air"! The destination at least should be written out in full even if some of the longer intermediate stations are abbreviated.
