It's no worse than the 150s really in terms of window/seat alignment.

Agree. I've always thought it was done that way because the only obvious alternative would be to have a pair of airline seats alongside each door pockets. Making them repeating bays of four (or six) gives those end seats a better view...

I know but as this thread shows the north west members seem to want their cake and eat it but not pay for it.

Well let's see if they look after these first. If they do then they can have some newer trains in a few years, - no not 321s either! ;)

Just for your info these are the confirmed runs that will be worked by 319s until the May timetable change which will then see further 319's introduced.

0616,0716,0916,1215,1416,1516,1713,1814 Liverpool-Man Air and 0735,0840,1040,1340,1540,1640,1840,1940 Man Air-Liverpool

Does the 7 hour gap in one diagram (07:16 to 14:16) occur because there are insufficient trained crews to work the 10:16 or 11:16 from Lime St. ?

As far as the 319 diagrams go, there are no booked 319 diagrams showing on weekends so far. The Liverpool night 'ferry' driver on a Sunday night will bring the two units off Allerton at 0542 for the Monday morning services and then split them at Liverpool.

Does that reflect Train Crew conditions of service where just because the diagam is a Liverpool one doesn't mean it is guaranteed to be a Liverpool based crew.

That one will definitely be a Lime St driver as they are the only ones to sign Allerton TMD.

The only reason Lime St wouldn't work a Lime St diagram is if it's due to shortages or STP'd.

Whats the train crew establishment like at Liverpool? Is there likely to be a shortage at weekends and cross cover from other depots?

Is that true? Or am I missing something?

According to latest Modern Railways there is a Cascade Plan (so much for DfT leaving it to the market...). If this is to be believed GW gets 110mph 387s from Thameslink but slower trains from Paddington will use those 365s that GTR doesn't need to keep.

How many slow trains will there be after cross rail.
Currently they have 36 class 165 and 21 class 166
With cross rail will not 29 class 387, 4 carriage emu be enough if consider 20 class 165 are only 2 cartridge.

Ah thanks. I haven't picked up my copy yet!

All the 387s plus said 365s seems like a bit much? Presumably the 365s won't be needed once Crossrail is fully underway in 2019?

It seems the DfT is thinking of giving Northern all the 319s along with the 350/4 released in the next franchise.

It should be 319379 (Thameslink livery) - as the unit is not modified in any way and not suitable for the L&M line services. Being used for Driver Training as far as I am aware.

Wigan drivers will be doing 319 training at Preston. Victoria drivers at Stockport.

I can't think where Northern will use 86x319s unless they replace the 323s and other EMUs at the same time (not a bad idea mind - one fleet throughout).
