What position did you apply for?

Whats a DSI?
How should I go about my application not done northern before, also unsure if I should state my disabilty with my poor eye sight.
It's also about the 4th time this year they have been looking for Drivers in Manchester, so they clearly are going.
Man Picc is one of the more unpopular Northern depots so maybe Drivers are transferring to 'other' depots causing vacancies to appear at Picc which in turn are getting filled mainly by Conductors.
@SuperOwl86 Added to which an employer is required to make reasonable adjustments. However, not sure if the requirements of ROGS would supercede that... due to safety critical work...

He passed an interview with them and was told that because he had a valid pass he wouldn't have to do the assessments and they would contact him. I've told him not to worry and that they will contact him, but he made a good point. The start date is January the 9th and he would need to give his notice on the 9th December. Does anyone have any information that I could give to my friend?
I am worried for him as I think he will lose out on this role if things don't pick up quickly.
It's not my opinion of it, its just an observation from what I've heard others say. Heard them saying they've got the worst route (e.g. Hadfield), worst shift times and awkward car parking facilities (a carpark a 15 minute walk from the station was mentioned??)

They can end up with a surplus of applicants who have passed all stages and then they have to pick the ones with the highest score at Line Manager Interview to chose who gets the job and who ends up with nothing. That is how their system works. What is taking so long is probably that they still have other applicants going through the process.
Every depot has 1 bad route, Picc's is Hadfield, The Car Park is less than 5 mins walk away and as a new guard the earliest start is 04.11 am and The latest finish is 02.10 am which is Pass from Chester on empties, we do not have nights like some depots and we have a very good variety of work and units
Why is Hadfield seen as such a bad route?
A couple of reasons, some of the Areas we go through have more than their fair share of Problem passengers! Gorton, Hattersley, and then the Triangle where we have to change ends 3 times in 20 minutes, the line has got better over the last few years but we have more trouble on that line then any other.

I wouldn't have thought that this route would be trouble. I went to Glossop and back on Saturday and it seemed quite civil and quiet.
What kind of trouble is there? Is it people not wanting to pay and trying to get away with it?
I noticed on Saturday that I didn't get my ticket checked on the out or return journey from piccadilly. I was quite surprised by this.
