I was also rejected for the conductor position based at Skipton. I'm still waiting on the trainee driver position at Skipton.

Thats what mine says,but if they are going to start training 2nd week in september they have got 3 weeks to do everything so people can give 2 weeks notice.Maybe it's another northern none job.

Could be worth also applying under a false female/foreign name with the exact same qualifications, see whether you get anywhere.

Few places have been rumbled by doing that, including recently Virgin Trains, Crewe. I never imagined myself as a leggy busty blond called Tracey, but it worked.

Just found out i passed my interview for a conductor at Liverpoool Lime street. Got my assessment day on the 31st. Bit nervous

I know of at least four jobs that are being delayed by 4-8 weeks, whilst 'business needs are being reassessed'. (!?!!)

I wonder if they have just withdrawn all the external applicants because it's been filled internally?? Has been known to happen before a couple of platform staff jobs at Man Oxford Rd being a recent example.

I'm under the impression a screw-up may have occured after some Leeds men were granted transfers to Skipton - my mate thinks this is the case but is not sure.

Also when you say 'pending' for the Manchester ones we are just waiting for the DTM's to get round to reading the app forms or pending a decision on whether the vacancies still required?

If it's at that stage, I'm under the impression the sifting still hasn't been done, as the auto-reject or invite to interview will appear immediately after that.

A friend of mine who is a Guards manager said they certainly don't get all the applications passed onto them, so it's safe to assume that York remove quite a few from the pile initially.
