Naming ScotRail HSTs

To pick up the theme of large Scottish companies that meet SNP approval, I’m sure Abellio would love to have Stagecoach as a name on one of their trains!

Please, please, please make it a unit that receives a 'Trainbow' vinyl each year…

Well me and @fishquinn both hate the name and its sounds more appropriate on that PC but otherwise 43003 had the creator of the GWR and Charles Rennie Mackintosh is just Hellfire. 43015 should be named 'Haymarket' because 47715 was named 'Haymarket' as well. If that makes it any more clearer.

For the HSTs, wouldn't it be good to have a Royals series?

Here's a few names I've thought of...some I've pinched from previous names carried by Scottish Locos..
Charles Rennie Mackintosh,
Iain Banks/Iain M Banks,
7x 'City of....' Names (the Inter7City branding would make this appropriate),
Murdoch Paterson (Highland Railway Civil Engineer responsible for completing the direct line from Aviemore to Inverness).

Have left it there for now...also thought that some 'River' names may fit too? That's an old Highland Railway tradition..'River Spey' & 'River Findhorn' would be my choices, as trains heading East and South from Inverness cross both rivers.

The surname "Weir" gave me an idea - wouldn't it be nice to name one after the late Tom Weir? I suppose this will probably go over the heads of our younger viewers, but I used to love watching the re-runs of his "Weir's Way" programmes on late night TV when I was in my teens.

'Gordon Brown' & 'Tony Blair'? Please NO!!! Would be amusing to see then at either end of the same set, mind you...
I think we should have a 'no politician' rule - at least any living politicians...I could see a 'Donald Dewar' hst power car, which would be appropriate to regognise someone who played a huge part in reconvening the Scottish Parliament.

I disagree. Look at all the good publicity the hilariously named Scottish gritter lorries generated. Something similar would be brilliant pr for the new services, doubly so if you get the public to come up with suggestions.

Plus it would put a smile on people's faces, you'd have to have a heart of stone not to chuckle if the gritting lorries Sir Salter Scott and Sir Andy Flurry went past you.
