Ah fair enough, they have probably had their mileage removed (and/or banned if they were a spammer)

No problem bb21, I deliberately don't fill in many details on my profile; always work on the principle the less info on me there is on the internet the better

PS Won't find me anywhere near something like Facebook........:)

For anyone using my mileage engine, there is currently an ongoing issue for routes where it has to do the leg work to generate others. Primarily because the code is awful and it doesn't work very well on the current server it is on.

I am officially withdrawing from the competition this year :(

My total is probably on roughly 8,000, with probably another 1,000 to come (giving a rough total of 20,000 over two years), but there is too much missing data from my long Internet loss to be able to give an accurate answer.

Roll on 2012

I've just updated mine after my tour on "The Ousing Dove" and am just over of 27900. Nothing else really planned for the rest of the year so will just have to see what time I have and where I can get too.

Currently just passed 19k for the calendar year, 20k for the timetable year. It's been a fairly quiet year for non-commuting journeys.

RailMiles tells me I'm currently on 12,971 miles for the year. Not too bad really, although my mileage including the PBR mileage from Sunday (RailMiles doesn't have Blaenavon High Level in the system annoyingly) should be 12,983. Almost at my revised target, which is 13,000 by the end of October. That'll be smashed through by the end of Sunday, what with a trip to the Ecclesbourne Valley Railway for 33035.

15,000 miles is the target for the end of the year. Should be dead easy with The Lowland Growler 3, a LM Great Escape, a Northern Day Ranger and hopefully a FCC 319 bash all to come yet. I'd love to beat my 2007 mileage total of over 20,000, sadly that looks impossible.

Already got plans for 2012 made including two railtours!

Going to battle in hope of sneeking a top 10 finish. Week off this week, but realisticly will probably finish between 11th & 15th.

On 14,611 miles now after a rather excellent trip on Friday and the most rateable 150 tour on Saturday. I'm jacking up my target to 16,000 miles for 2011 this year now, which I reckon will be easy enough to do, what with the PLEG events in the North East this weekend and the trip to/from them and The Lowland Growler 3 and associated trip the week after, plus a couple of trips in December <D Trying as much as I can to make 2011 my 3rd best year...

Even though this year has gone well, it's still only my 4th best year in my bashing career! :o And in a surprise move, I'm upping my 2012 target to 10,000 miles. Next year's promising already and a 5,000 target is too low.

EDIT: Just noticed I'm in position 28 on the mileage table. That's really not good...

I reckon I won't be doing as much bashing next year, so my target is low. My original target was 10,000 for 2010 and the same was for this year. This year, targets got smashed every time I set one up. At the moment, I have been aiming for 15,000 miles this year, but since that's nearly hit and with two massive mileage trips coming, I upped it to 16,000. If I have my way, I'll have plenty more than that.

So in a way the target for 2012 is now the same as it has been for two years anyway, but expect a post at some point next year to say it's gone up as I've smashed my way through it

Also, nice to see something different in your signature :) Must remember to change mine, it's not altered since August!

I'd noticed that actually. My target has become 10,000 traditionally (well, two years ) as well, but the first year looked unlikely from roughly July on until very late, whereas this year, well, I honestly have no idea :| I would expect that I have reached at least 7,500, but I am some way short of knowing for certain. The best answer I can find is 4,660 - as of, er, the end of my Ireland trip [bearing in mind six months ago to the minute I was somewhere near Bangor ]...

Also, nice to see something different in your signature :) Must remember to change mine, it's not altered since August!

 Didn't see that coming! :p

Bloody hell, bad times man! Maybe 2012 will be better to you, and I've already started to notice just how great my railcard was. £15 for Birmingham International to Derby for a day return, **** that's a lot. Wouldn't be doing it if it weren't for the promise of required track from Lichfield Trent Valley to Burton-on-Trent when I go up that way on 27th November.

Not sure what to change my signature to, so for now it'll stay as it is :p

I only need c400 miles to hit 10K miles. Think I can do that with 2 double header weekends, 6 trips over Christmas plus other stuff by end of year!

Depends how fast you want to get that in. You can easily get over 200 miles in a day on a WMDR, probably a lot more depending on where you go. Indeed, this page from my RailMiles log shows you can easily get over 300 miles in one day. Given your location is Dudley, you could probably do better than me. See the below link for details of a WMDR I did in July 2011:

http://techniquest.railmiles.org/date-11Jul2011/

Obviously everyone's circumstances are different, but I reckon you could probably do a good 150 miles on a Daytripper in a day, depending on the moves and start/finish time.

Just back from Belgium with plenty of new locos in the book - it does help when they introduce a brand new class since I last went there to bash :D

(About time too, since they have been around for nearly two years now

I should also have a few miles to add as well though this will take a few days to sort out; looking at 48,000 by the end of the year but a lot will hinge on how desperate I get in Germany in a couple of weeks time.

Mileage for 2011 now set to be lower than planned, thanks to The Lowland Growler 3 being cancelled <( Alternative plans for that weekend being made, might do an East Midlands Day Ranger or something, not quite sure.

I still need all of the Wetherspoons in Bath, so always an option!

I've decided on doing a Chiltern/FCC bash next weekend, using the Chiltern weekend offer. Since I still need Welwyn Garden City flyover, I'm using at least one of my FCC tickets. Might even do a 319 bash to Bedford whilst down there, but more likely to go shack scratching on Chiltern with the ranger. So I won't get as much mileage that weekend, but it'll still be a good bit :)

Advance warning for users of the mileage engine... the public mileage engine will go down for a week within the next few months in order to allow a full upgrade of the system.

There will be a major new feature added, though :), which I'm fairly sure everyone will like.

Could you try and ensure it isn't over the new year? This is so people can tot up their final set of mileages for all the competitions over the various forums :?:

Cheers,

TP

I shall also PM this you

And what I replied to you by PM so everyone can see...

Afraid not - the downtime is largely dependent on my personal schedule. If the best time for it to be done is over the new year then it will have to be done over the new year or it simply won't get done until the summer.

(didn't send this by PM but it's relevant...) To add to that, it's a one man band and no-one else has the time nor patience to be dealing with it. I have an extremely heavy coursework schedule at Uni which eats most of my time, to add to that I'm losing interest in dealing with it too - this will probably be the last update to it ever, but it'll be a good one.

TBH if it gets to the point where it is an inconvenience for some people, I'm sure the competition on here could be kept open for a few days more.
