507018 and 507010 just worked the following (5T83). Awaiting onward working to Southport (5T84) however delayed due to the disruption currently at Liverpool Central due to a track fault, with services turning back at Sandhills leading to congestion in the Sandhills area.

A 5T85 has just appeared on the Traksy map at Kirkdale depot. Can't find a schedule on any of the info websites though.
EDIT: schedule appeared on RTT after I posted. Looks like it is indeed another attempt to move those units to Southport.

My previous visit to Merseyrail turned into a fiasco owing to a 777 failure at Hall Road. After keeping my distance for a couple of months I foolishly returned today to be greeted by a fire farce this time and the 507's were lost this afternoon as their turns cancelled. Has anyone got any idea where they are now and if they return to booked turns tonight or have I wasted all my time and effort yet again!!!!

Sorry to hear regarding your recent visit.
The 507s will still be out working the;
1742 (2U49) Southport to Hunts Cross, 1851 (2S53) from Hunts Cross return - should be 001 and 016
1757 (2U50) Southport to Hunts Cross, 1906 (2S54) from Hunts Cross return - should be 007 and 029
018 and 010 appear to be next out working 2042 (2U61) Southport to Hunts Cross, while 003 and 017 appears to have been shunted into the wall sidings at Southport station (replaced by 018 and 010).
Hope this helps and you manage to catch them still.

017 and 003 ran empty from Liverpool South Parkway to Southport after the line block in the Liverpool Central area was cleared and was then shunted into the wall sidings upon arrival.Do you know what happened to 017 and 003?

I think the plan was to swap these units with 010 and 018 anyway. Not sure what the plan is next for 003 and 017, perhaps an ECS move over to the Wirral, although maybe tomorrow now?
Upon arrival of 2S54 into Southport this evening, platform 1 to 3 and wall siding should all be occupied by a 6 car 507, should make for a nice picture.

Thank you this is a great help. I managed to get two of those pairs. The two I haven't managed are 010/018 and 007/029 so I will try again later as decided to stay tonight and cover the morning before heading off.

It should be leading when heading towards Southport and trailing when working to Hunts Cross. That is provided it is out tomorrow and remains coupled in the same orientation, as it was last week to 016. It should start out from Birkenhead North depot early hours Monday morning. Hope this helps.

Just taken from Gemini now! Merseyrail are usually quick at putting allocations in, the 0757 from Southport is allocated to 507007 + 507029, the 0812 allocated to 507010 + 507018, hope it helps!

507001 seems to have been taken out of service and shunted into the wall sidings at Southport. 507016 now running coupled with 003 in its place.

Very unlikely to be one on Chester services since they havent been running on that line for a while now. Very rare chance one will.

Could be a number of reasons. Driving instructor/manager doing a ride assessment/training. Drivers route learning/refreshing, signallers occasionally go out in the cab to familiarise themselves with the area they will sign, somebody riding up front to inspect the line for whatever reason, etc etc.

Does anyone know the gear ratio of the 507/8s? I’m currently undergoing a project to recreate a gec310 from home, all I need to recreate the motor sound is the gear ratio from the straight cut gears, if anyone knows that would be massively appreciated and would help the project a lot
