It's a pity that the 1980s-built carriage shed was demolished in the first place - apart from the end wall and doors - and even more of a pity that the 1950s-built steam roundhouse was demolished - although I believe that it had advanced concrete cancer.
Always good to have undercover storage I suppose, even if the stock isnt being used that often it keeps the worst of the weather off and reduces maintenance costs in the long term. My hope is that this will lead to an expansion in operations and more stock to be acquired (Only an opinion and a hope).
I reckon the ScotRail rake will go in there too, as that hasn’t turned a wheel for sometime now and is also among the various vehicles stored outside at Crewe.
If that is the case then I wonder what they will do with the new space at Crewe? I think this creates more questions than it answered to be honest, but all very exciting, can only be a good thing really.

As I understand it, the passengers changed trains at Hellifield, so Blue Peter + Chairman's Train went ECS to Upperby. The passengers joined the bubble car for a scenic ride over the S&C.
Rather unfortunate to hear that, as I was looking forward to seeing Duke of Gloucester pass through Kent today.
I feel a say 4-5 carriage train as a demonstration may have been more realistic
