How far did you travel? Seems a bit of a distance when sitting those tests.

They've been "collaborating" a lot lately

I travelled for almost 5 hours by train and had to pay to stay overnight in a hotel as I wouldn't have been able to get there in time on the day of the actual assessment.

No surprises they've been collaborating - they're all part of the same parent company!!!

I know I work for them :|

At your own cost, surely they should cover it.

First paid for me to get to and from Manchester and stay overnight last year

Hotel was at my own cost, LM did offer travel on their services (eventually) but I work for another TOC so just used my pass anyway. My TOC usually pays for the accommodation in these situations so was a bit surprised to have to pay myself but it was only £29 for a cheap Travelodge so not the end of the world.

Well done mate. Wonder if they are planning on taking any of the recent applicants through to this course too? Bit too soon maybe?

I have not heard anything yet. The link to the careers page on their website does not seems to be working today either.

Does anyone know what LM's pass standard is for the structured interview? I know that some TOCs won't accept a C grade on any of the criteria, so are LM similar?

Thanks.

You might be waiting quite a while. They are in no rush to get any trainee drivers now as they already had enough trainees ready to pass out to cover their short fall when the advert was placed.

Then why would they advertise then?

Got an email today, explaining with an invite to assessment. Additionally, the Rail Associate Centre Forum has made changes to the types of assessments that Trainee Train Drivers must pass in order to be eligible. For these reasons testing would begin in October 2013 and run throughout the year. Im just curious if any previous test scores will be scrapped or used in this new system??

Had email today saying I had passed the first round in the recruitment process, next stage will be a trainee drivers assessment session, will email soon with some dates, which will be after October 2013 when changes to the testing come into force.
With these new assessments coming into force doubt theres any point asking what is entailed at this early stage.
