On my conductor assessment day with LM, I did Group Borden, ticket selling test, ticket checking test and comprehension. We did not do any role play and my structured interview was a week later. Good luck.

All I can say is, don't let it bother you too much, theres plenty other TOC's around who don't ask for a car driving lisence at all!

Ones that do ask, really are in the minority.

What a breath of fresh air - Well done London Midland, this is how an online application process should be done.

A certain other TOC should take notice!

;)

Yes, I found it a refreshing way to apply. There is a certain FOC that all you do is put your name, number and attach and a CV and you're done! Simple! Much nicer than that TOC, and now its sister TOC where you have to sit for two hours and write an essay!!

Were you going for driver or guard?

Do believe the position has been removed, did have an application with them but did not submit it. Just as well really I have a good vibe.

Position is closed - looks like LM have got their quota.

The conductor one is still up if anyone is interested. Just, don't be too interested, as it's the one I want :P

Had a feeling that this would not last until the closing date. Luckily I got my application in the other day, phew!

I know I know, I was just bored in work. I didn't even go for drivers, the conductors one is still open, so I won't be hearing anything for a while :D

Hi all, I applied but I've not heard anything as of yet, not too sure what number I was though, just wondering saying they ended taking the applications early from previous experiences from those on here whom have applied with lm before what is the typical amount of time from applying to hearing something back from London midland?

Still nothing on the conductor front either - as far as I can remember, there was no "the training for this job will start in...." on the job description, so could be a while before anything happens

I think wires are being crossed here, I mean for those who have applied, whats the usual turn around from applying to hearing that you have/ haven't been successful in getting a job interview?

On that I'm not sure - I was replying to the generic "has anyone heard" messages, sorry mate

I attended second stage interview/reaction tests yesterday in Croydon for a trainee driver position in Brum (I had the first set of tests in Nov 2011...) and passed everything but have been given no timescale at all. Not sure how many others that had initial interviews in 2011 have been called back but apparently there were 700 applicants for the recently advertised vacancies.

How far did you travel? Seems a bit of a distance when sitting those tests.

They've been "collaborating" a lot lately
