One has been parked in the carriage sidings at Beltchley for ages and I think another is on Northampton depot. I assume for crew familiarisation and static training. TBH i am not to concerned about the swap of 321 for 319 units ( although the reduced capacity may be an issue) i would be concerned by any wider fleet swap!

319419 and 319216 respectively, the latter being the Southern livery one. Although 319013 also carries Southern livery so presumably one of those two is getting ''minimal LM branding''.

Can't see why they would, it's usual for guards to work from the cab on LM. Usually the front cab of the rear unit.

????

Only time I've ever seen guards on LM has been on the London - TV - Crewe services. Not usually south of Northampton, where these units will be confined to (hopefully they won't make it north of MKC).

thanks - the one at Bletchley is unbranded Thameslink white with no obvious LM branding. I didnt get a good look a the Northampton one as i could only see the front end.

As an aside a pair of 321's worked the 0714 Bletchley - Euston this morning

It's six. Please read post 231.

6 confirmed but rumours of more to come.

You haven't been looking very hard, then. There is no DOO whatsoever on any part of LM, all trains have guards and cannot operate without, and I am not aware of any plan to change this.

Indeed they did, were you on it? Just in case, I was in the rearmost platform-side (at BLY) set of airline seats. The interiors are falling to bits now - the seat back in front of me was unsecured and almost fell off.

Is this a usual Friday working, or a one-off?

If you don't see guards on your LM trains that's a bit worrying because you won't be able to get off.

If you're referring to ticket checks they're also quite common on the xx:47 MKC-Euston services.

Not quite, it's all-over white with grey doors and LM seat covers inside. Thameslink is blue doors! I hate all these white liveries we have now.

Not today as I am in MK. I was waiting for the Crewe train on the other platform. It is the first time in ages that train has been a 321.

They are looking shabby inside tbh

The note on LM JourneyCheck suggests they will get full LM branding but not, for some reason, until 2016 (paint warranty?)

Do they have to be painted though? Couldn't they just receive full height vinyl's at some point as per the 350/1s?

That is a common approach, though it's worth noting the 350/1s do not have full-height vinyls, the grey is the same grey paint on the original blue-and-grey livery (and is slightly different from the 350/2 grey, which is a good way of identifying where the blue seats are from a distance :) )

Painting or vinyling will have to wait until there are more than four available to LM surely? In line with previous discussions about them diagramming 5 from 7 or whatever.

They could steal some seat covers from FGW' ex LM dogboxes which now have a purple carpet to clash with the green

For those interested, London Midland have confirmed in a staff newsletter that the first public 319 working will be the 16:07 Watford Junction to St. Albans Abbey on Sunday 20th September.

The last class 321 working for London Midland will be 321413 on the 15:28 St. Albans Abbey to Watford Junction, Sunday 20th Sept.

"first London Midland class 319 is due to arrive at Bletchley on 19th June, 319429. The other three they are getting are 319013; 319216 & 319460. "

Posted elsewhere that 319441 and 319457 have just been transferred to LM to join the original four, while 319216 has received a C6 overhaul.
