Don't some sleeper services to Glasgow or Edinburgh (can't remember) reverse at Carstairs?

I remember going up to Scotland over 10 years ago and feeling really disorientated after a wait at Carstairs when it felt like I was going back to England..

Holyhead/Bangor to Llandudno reverses(d) at Llandudno Junction - though a quick trawl of the National Rail timetable suggests there are no longer any such services.

ATW replaced it in Dec 2005 with calls on the Holyhead-Cardiff & Holyhead BHM INTL services which can call all stations west of Llandudno Jnc. V frustrating if you've got off the ferry.

BHM INTL to Aberystwyth/Pwllheli trains all reverse at Shrewsbury. (8 a day each way)

Thank you for all the contributions, I know the general idea may seem a bit senseless so I do apologize, but thanks for answering my question. If there is any more ideas that haven't been mentioned that would be great as I'm trying to get as many as I can for this thing I'm doing, which is just fantasy stuff and nowt special.

Before it was split at the last timetable change, the Selby-Wakefield Westgate 'Grand Tour' reversed 3 times: at Bradford Interchange; Huddersfield and again at Wakefield Kirkgate.

Great work here, so well done, however there must be even more than this- for example only one Sheringham to Norwich service is listed.
I am also a bit confused by all those Victoria to Ore trains reversing at Brighton.

I remember going up to Scotland over 10 years ago and feeling really disorientated after a wait at Carstairs when it felt like I was going back to England..

As the main platforms at Carstairs are on the NW arm (the Glasgow lines) of that 3-way junction, then any train splitting there to/from Edinburgh, Glasgow & Carlisle will require a reversal for the Edinburgh-Carlisle portion.

I'm slightly surprised that the almost walking pace curve between the Glasgow and Edinburgh lines would feel like a return to Carlisle - but in a berth in the dark - perhaps!

Anything Northern operate through Newcastle can reverse there because of the layout, quite a lot of the Metrocentre - Morpeths do for a start

There's not really that many, on any given day I'd say only around 5-10% do (including ones that are not booked to reverse but do so for operational flexibility.

It does this to run via Castleford - to maintain diversionary route knowledge for Leeds-Selby when the route via Garforth is closed.

EMT services from London to north of Sheffield (Leeds, York, Scarborough) reverse at Nottingham. I think these are always HSTs.

York and Scarborough weekend trains are normally always Meridians.

OK didn't realise that. Does that mean Wakefield-Huddersfield is pretty much all class 14x operated again like it used to be?

Single 153 allegedly...I don't think anything greater than that capacity wise is required and saves 158's and such running round spending an age doing the Huddersfield - Westgate (long wait in siding) - Huddersfield section when better utilised elsewhere
