On a Berlin - Dresden train had a superb pork schitnzel , roast spuds , salad , rye bread and paprika butter , followed by poppy seed cake and coffee and of course 2 beers. This was a Czech diner. Excellent value.

On the narrow gauge steam line from Zittau (last week) had a bowl of soup with light rye bread , 2 Bratwursts and a local beer.

Steak and Ale pie, made with Leftover Beef from Sunday and about 2/3s of a pint of Hobgoblin, and chips. The best bit is, I have enough pastry left, and enough sauce left to do it again!

Sounds quite nice, impressed that it's homemade.

Not wholly. The filling was homemade, but the pastry was a ready to roll job unfortunately. I don't think there is enough space in my student kitchen to make pastry, certainly not when there is more than 1 person in there, although I seem to have promised my mum that I'll make a family sized portion (so about the same as I've just made!) over the Easter holidays, so hopefully I can make some proper stuff then! After that, I guess I'd have to purchase a cow!

Quorn chicken and dairy free cheese, vegetarian quesadilla, with sweet potato and beetroot chips. Side dish of asparagus and broccoli to compliment..
