I thought it was a useful clue given how far away this is. Those trains do cross into at least one other country, but I wouldn't be devious enough to make it that difficult!

That's right! Almaty 2 (the city centre station).

The buckets of apples for sale on the platform were another (difficult) clue as Almaty translates to "father of apples" (the first wild apples are believed to grown in the foothills of the mountains around Almaty).
