Can you give me update then? All XC sets are planned to be done by May 2018.

Look a bit like Pullman doors

The small door window reminds me of the Hyundai-Rotem stock built for the State Railways of Thailand:

Then i would assume GWR & Scotrail rakes are being done now, due to difficulties with the XC rakes.

Not sure if this has been answered before, but I am interested to know if a returning HST GTi is cleared for 125mph running with only 4 coaches ?

Is there any information available about how that is calculated?

Every (braked) vehichle has an established brake force which in turn is used to assess the maximum speed capability with different signal spacing. I can't now remember which document it is held in. For info, an HST 2+5 is OK for 125mph.

Are the interiors being upgraded at all? I'm specifically thinking about the awful high density carriages which have 2 tables in each. There will surely be room to add some tables back in?

Hopefully the seating will be altered to be of a similar layout to the 158s, extra seating will allready be provided in extra carriages (4 vs 2 or 3). I don't have a problem with the HSTs as they are, there is plenty of room even in the current layout. However, lots of families from my local station travel for leisure purposes so extra tables would be advantageous for these. It is just a shame rather than a Trailer Standard at the end of the train, a Miniature Buffet isn't being retained. aim sure the demand is there and would be better than a trolley.

Well, if they can’t do 125mph with 4 coaches but can with 5, why not make them 5 coach sets?

Surely, it would have been best if the ex GWR HST’s had gone to XC where they could perhaps have been 6 or 7 coach sets and the 4 coach XC Voyagers had gone to Scotland or to GWR?

Summer timetable uploaded into TRUST apparently has the summer saturdays ‘vegex’ shown as loco-hauled.

Perhaps because there is no 125mph track anywhere that the GWR short sets will operate.

I have a funny feeling that Scotrail and GWR would have declined the chance to acquire 4-car Voyagers...

If they are good enough to work services out of London with the current layout why would they alter the seating for a service that is essentially a sprinter substitute stopping service, similarly why do they need a miniature Buffet when the sprinter fleet doesn't have this.
