I have to say one thing about the new Hitachi Class 800 et all. The design of these new trains has had some thought put into them as they are a nice looking passenger train that is state of the art. As long as the toilets do not pose a foul sewage smell to the whole carriage or in some cases. The whole train consist. I will be perfectly fine with that as the 220/221's suffer from this problem and to be honest, that is the reason why I try my best to avoid them if I can do so

.
I personally will be looking forward to riding these brand new trains next year and to be honest. It is one of the modern era trains that isn't ugly in my opinion. So I am giving the designers at Hitachi a big thumbs up already. I would have like Hitachi to have used the Cummins QSK19's for diesel mode. But MTU's will do the job reasonable well.
I am hoping that we won't hear that mind numbing drone on those train when going on a long haul trip like you hear on the 158's between Liverpool and Norwich.
Just a question here. Would anyone know if East Midlands Trains are getting any of those new trains in the future? As I think some of these trains would look great in the East Midlands Trains colours
