Does anyone know what has happened to 165110? I know it came back to Reading in green with a/c pods on its roof a few weeks ago, but since then it seems to have vanished.

I was slightly surprised to see 166212 working on the Reading- Basingstoke circuit last week. I thought those with the yellow triangle RHM modifications were staying in the west, but clearly I thought wrong.

They were, however they are only limited to the Basingstoke runs if they're RHM.

166210 is now also at SPM. Came down last Tuesday.

165110 is at Reading, after a second visit to Wolverton, but has not been released back into traffic due to a few 'issues'

The Ride Height Modified (RHM) sets, in LTV land, are cleared for Reading - Basingstoke & Reading - Shalford, but as of yet we have only been authorised to deploy them on the Basingstoke services. Presumably once more RHM sets are available that will change as we won't have to worry about RHM & non RHM sets on diagrams that have to couple at some stage.

166204, 205, 208, 212, 214 & 216 are the current RHM sets.

166212 & 214 were at Reading but if all has gone to plan today, 166204 is back at Reading and 166214 has gone to SPM.

Does anyone know if 165112 has received decals since I saw it a couple of weeks ago still without them? Is 113 likely to remain missing them for some time as well?

165110 is now out & about with GWR decals (and the new air cooling fitted)
165112 is still without decals as is 165113. They won't get them until the units can be stopped over a weekend and the contractors booked.
165114 & 165117 are at Wolverton.

No idea why 117 has leapfrogged 165116 in the queue!

Rumor has it that 158961 is in for its refurb and repaint at the mo. I haven't seen it out and about for a while. Can anyone confirm?

Almost all 143 in green that was quick local lines disappearing fast and good riddance. . Good concept but horrid colours

Will Gatwick airport get solely three cars eventually ? I believe only 165s staying for ltv remaining diesel work but 2 cars must be uncomfortable

I simply can't understand this post at all. Did you forget to punctuate it perhaps?

I expect the intention is for Reading-Gatwick to be three-car units all the time but there will still be a number of two-car sets based at Reading for Thames Valley branches and also operating around Oxford on Banbury/Didcot stoppers and to cover the Cotswold Line halts services (some of the platforms can only take two 23m coaches).

And also for the Henley, Marlow and Windsor branches.

RTT is showing there was a Wolverton to Reading move on 23/9 - anyone know what this was please? Has 165114 been turned around in 12 days or has 165110 been back for more work?

Interesting. I've not been in work for the last week but all the work emails I've seen, mention nothing about a move back from Wolverton, indeed everything is still showing 165114 & 117 stopped at Wolverton. 165110 is in service.

I'm intrigued, I shall make enquiries :)

Quick text to my colleague who was working days on the 23rd - nothing came back to depot from Wolverton.

On Saturday it was only showing times as far as Acton Canel Wharf. I see since then a time at Reading appeared.

My guess is that it was an incorrectly described Wolverton to Wembley, V instead of M as the Aylesbury to Wolverton ran down that morning.

Translation attempt:

"Almost all 143s are green now - that was quick! Local lines livery is disappearing fast, and good riddance. Good concept, but horrid colours.

Will Gatwick Airport be served by only three coach trains eventually? I believe that only the Class 165s staying for the remaining diesel services on LTV [sorry, don't get this bit! Local Thames Valley?], but 2-coach trains must be uncomfortable. Will there be a new timetable to allow for this?""

Apparently, next to add to the repainted list is 800013, which has been vinyled at Stoke Gifford and moved to North Pole along with 800008 today, 008 still being in Hitachi Non TOC Specific white.

165110 currently on the 2R39 1312 London Paddington to Reading. It has new vents above the windows and on the roof, and appears to have new inter-car gangways. However, all the opening windows are still there (although most were closed when I saw it as it isn't particularly warm today :P ). I wasn't lucky enough to go on it, only saw it by chance at Southall in the other direction, but did take a photo.

Is this currently the only GWR unit fitted with these "cooling units"? I'll have a look out for it, I'm over that way tomorrow.
