Is this currently the only GWR unit fitted with these "cooling units"? I'll have a look out for it, I'm over that way tomorrow.

If it stays on diagram it's on Thames Valley services until mid afternoon when it trundles down the Kennet Valley on the Newbury/Bedwyns.

As seen today at Reading TCD, 800013 and 800010 both in full GWR green.

From the photos I've seen, they both seem to have been done in the same fashion as 003 and 004, leaving some fairly obvious patches of white visible on the body.

That is correct. The green is a simple vinyl overlay. Simple in the sense of not having fancy complex shapes to fit into all the nooks and crannies, just the fairly flat bits.

Here's a video of it, and also 617, the last green pacer.

Local lines pacers are now (thankfully) a thing of the past. I wonder if any more except 618 will get the semi-refurb treatment. Was on it today, felt a bit weird.

143617, 143618 and 143619 have received the minor interior refurbishment but do you know why 143621 has gone to St Phillips Marsh?

Just seen HST go through Slough (1A24), and the set had 1 single GWR livery coach in it! Is that how it's going to be now, even leaving individual mismatched coaches in the set!?

If that single, mismatched coach saves a short form; or cancellation - absolutely. Having a train is much more important than what colour it is painted.

Just wondering how it came to be on its own, seeing only a couple of full sets have been done green, and is there any requirement to try and get it back into its original set?

Couple poles and doors done, but the seats are just grey without the ususal green headrest.

Sounds interesting - I'll keep an eye out when I am next using the Devon Metro. The interiors weren't too shabby (and probably one of the best out of all Pacer classes), Exeter has looked after them well.

Interesting that 150261 has gone next. I saw 150265 on a Warminster - Worcester Shrub Hill run this evening and it looks run down. Even the pink is starting to fade off some doors.

Just 150265, 150249 and 150221 left in local lines now then! (And of course a number of 158s)

Mismatched sets have been around for ages (I have a pic of one in late June, for example). It's just an operational requirement as JN114 says. If it is possible to get a complete set together again they will, but that is way down the list of priorities.

Doesn't matter about the order. They are all as bad as one another. If I remember correctly 150261 was the first to go for PRM Mods but not re liveried at the time.

I saw the set in question last week, and the green coach has blue seats. My understanding was that there were only originally two green sets of stock in service, one with green seats and one with the normal blue seats. Is this a spare green coach, or does the green set with blue seats now have an odd blue coach in it?

150249 has gone off somewhere to receive some bodywork attention cant remember where though... Could be Wolverton so only 2 local lines left now :(
