They all seemed to be jinxed today!! Still, apart from a diversion between Sheffield and Chesterfield on the way down, and a drunk passenger, and a sick passenger on the way home, no real problems. Even managed to escape Brum before the points problem at Proof House Junction!!

Could be me,I was on 06.44 N/CLE - BOURNEMOUTH and we developed engine probs en-route york-leeds,train eventually terminated at leeds, squeezed onto NCL- PLY service arriving in Brum 11:30 and straight back out again with Bristol - NCL !! ;);)

Is that just to learn what the role entails, as opposed to route learning, since if teh latetr I would assume you would de-train at Donny or York.

Basically as you are aware, some of GC staff had a non railway backround, this was an exercise to show those staff members how onboard staff such as TM's etc work with the public, carrying out their duties such as ticket checks,PA announcements etc,IMHO its been a good exercise !! ;);)

Apparently the local yobs managed to graffiti 43080 overnight, although it was quickly removed from the info I was told.

This looks a bit tired, and I can see what people meant about wanting the screens between sections redone - that and the ceiling light look like the trains have been refurbished on the cheap. It could be cos it is a shed but the interior looks a bit monochrome and drab.

Bosch, were you stood by the first class doors on arrival at Leeds? If so remember someone asking you if you'd been jinxing Virgin?

So it appears the rake was moved from the shed then to where the local knuckle draggers could vandalise it !:mad:

It was too early for me to properly work anything out. Luckily the guy who I met off the train had his brain working!

Paul was excellent,as have all the TM's I've been with these last 2 weeks, infact all my colleagues have had nothing but high praise for the TM's,1st class hosts etc ! With regards to my anouncements,I have to admit to having several years of practice in that particular field, lol :o

Ah that would be telling ! I worked on the railway from 83 till 2001 and left the industry having been through various changes,BR,Regional Railways,Intercity+EastCoast etc,saw the formation of GC and decided I wanted to get back in the saddle,so to speak,so here I am !!! ;);)

The refurbishment is much more classy than I thought it would be. The whole company has echos of GNER in its ability to display style and class. There uniforms as modled by BOSCH and his conductor yesterday are very nice.

You guys using Advantix for your ticket issuing facilities?

I like the look of those MK3's very much one like and the grand central image at the end of each coach is very clever. I love the gold doors and can see GC being a big hit!

Might I query what the blue on your map would represent?

I'm mainly curious because blue on my maps indicates travel in First Class. Green for Standard/whatever and red for Rateable Traction.
