doesn't look like a 3rd rail DC bit - it's only on one line! old rails get left by the side of em all the time - sorry im pedantic like that
Hunts Cross is a through station with P1 and P2 through lines and P2 and P3 used for terminating Merseyrail services
So how do you explain the insulators then?TBH, it really does look like old rail. Don't particularly want to test it myself, though![]()
I think....The first and last trains operated by Northern in and out of Leeds on a Monday to Friday are? (and not looking on LDB). Including departure and arrival times.
Not permanantly from what I've heard.sorry to butt in about the post privatisation list, FGW cant be one as they are to keep hold of three 180s, there are post privatisation...IIRC..

Sea-Land Corporation was a seperate company that was bought by the A.P. Moller-Maersk Group from the CSX Corporation in November 1999. In fact, Maersk also actually own P&O Nedlloyd and your Safmarine, however they chose not to merge the latter into the Sealand brand and keep it seperate. Torm Lines was merged into the Safmarine brand in 2002.Maersk line? thought they were just maersk sealand
technically class 158/159 units are not classed as 15X, as they are very different to their origins. It's actually true. Only class 158/159 units are cleared for service on the 3rd rail. this is to do with the electric jumper cables between vehicles hanging low to the rail, which could cause short circuits etc

It wouldn't be Buffet Open/Closed would it? Every time I travel on loco-hauled services, the buffet always seems to be operating to a very random schedule...In class 25/26/27 locos, next to the engine stop / start buttons, what is the other button to the right for??

(Sorry to dig up an old thread, but was flicking through a few old topics and just couldn't resist it!)
Class 153, 150, 158's are all permitted into platform 7 at Chester and this is DC electrified for the Mersey Rail
158s used to go into Waterloo for Wales and West, and I think they went into Brighton too!
I'm not sure about a 158!
What multiple working system do class 25s have (what's it called) and what other classes is it compatible with? And for a bonus, how do you tell if a loco has it by looking at it?
159s have been into Brighton. I'm not sure about a 158!
I've seen quite a few of them in Brighton, both SWT ones and as westcoaster said FGW ones.

Blue Star? Other locos it is compatible with would be any with Blue Star, off the top of my head they would be classes 24, 26, 27, 31, 33, 37, 40 and 73. And you can tell if a loco as it by seeing if it has a small little blue star?
